□ 교육부(부총리겸 교육부장관 이준식)와 미래창조과학부(장관 : 최양희, 이하 미래부)는 3월 25일(금) 2016년도 소프트웨어(SW) 연구·선도학교 900개 학교를 발표하였다. ㅇ 올해 새롭게 선정된 소프트웨어(SW)교육 선도학교는 초등학교 382개교, 중학교 196개교, 고등학교 107개교로 총 685개교이며, 지난해 선정되어 2차년도 계속 지정 연구학교 및 선도학교 215개교와 함께 소프트웨어(SW)교육을 운영한다. □ 소프트웨어(SW) 연구·선도학교는 2018년부터 시작되는 소프트웨어(SW)교육 필수화에 대비하여 정규 교육과정 내에서 소프트웨어(SW)교육을 중점 운영할 계획이다. ㅇ 이에 따라 『소프트웨어교육 운영 지침』을 적용하여 정규 교육과정에서 초등학교는 17시간 이상, 중학교는 34시간 이상의 소프트웨어(SW)교육을 실시하며, 고등학교는 ‘정보’ 관련 과목을 통해 소프트웨어(SW)교육을 실시한다. ㅇ 또한, 교과 시간 외에 창의적 체험 활동(자율, 동아리, 봉사, 진로활동), 자유학기 등을 활용하여 소프트웨어(SW) 소양을 배양할 수 있는 다양한 교육프로그램들이 운영될 예정이다. 자료문의:교육부 교육과정정책과 장원영 연구사(☎044-203-7032)

Carrots and sticks in REDD+ implementation: Implications for social safeguards

Abstract: In this study, we monitored swidden cultivation and forest fallow management in a Khmu village in Laos. Monitoring was conducted between 2005 and 2015 and covered a full swidden cycle. Through GPS mapping, interviews with swidden farmers, and on-site observation, we examined the present state of swidden cultivation in the village. Swidden farming is found throughout the mountains of Laos; however, there is a current preference for the use of other land-use systems. The recent trends toward a market economy have forced the people and forests in the mountains of Laos to undergo various changes as they integrate into the world market. They have been impacted by the enclosure movement called the Land and Forest Allocation Program, the expansion of the cultivation of cash crops such as maize and Para rubber trees, and re-afforestation aimed at industrial wood resources. Here, we discuss the changes taking place in the relationship between the local people and their swidden cultivation system. We also examine the possibility of stabilizing swidden cultivation in the study areas to ensure a future in which the swidden farmers are able to live with a sense of security. This presentation was given by Shinya Takeda at the IUFRO conference in Beijing, China that was held from October 24-27, 2016.

FCR = Amount of feed provided (kg) / biomass gained (kg) Ideal Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) for tilapias in ponds and cages during grow-out stage The Body Condition Factor is a calculation that tells us if the fish have a normal weight, are underweight or are overweight for their size. To calculate this, we use the length and weight of the fish. Body condition factor (k) = 100 x (weight [g] / total length [cm]3) Ideal Condition Factor (K) for tilapias in ponds and cages during the grow-out stage. The crude protein is a measure of the % protein contained in the feed. As a rule of thumb, as tilapia grow, the percentage of crude protein needed for optimal growth decreases. In this module, we are focusing on the grow-out stage and the ideal amount of protein in ponds and cages. Ideal crude protein % for tilapias in ponds and cages during the grow-out stage.
