This document summarizes the annual general meeting of the Dan Management Students' Association (DMSA) that took place on March 12th, 2015. 6. ELECTIONS: WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RUN?
Returning full-time students interested in the Dan Management program
There is no application or interview process to screen candidates
However, must follow procedure of: nomination, campaigning, and speeches
Additional Information:
It is not possible for a “team” to run for a single position.
It is possible to run for more than one position.
7. ELECTIONS: WHO SHOULD RUN?
Expected Time Commitment
Average of 10 hours per week
Usually 20+ hours during Clubs Week, Director Selection, and DMSA Connect
Rewards
Lead a great team with 30+ executives and 400+ members!
Promote the Dan Management program by doing what you love
Meet program students, faculty and alumni on a more personal basis
8. ELECTIONS: TIMELINE
Election Nomination & Campaigning
General Meeting – March 12
Nomination Period – March 13 ~ 11:59 PM, March 18
Campaigning Period – March 19 ~ 11:59 PM, March 23
Election
Meet & Greet and Speeches – March 24 (TBA)
Election (online): March 24 – 25 (TBA)
(Social & Mandatory candidates’ meeting TBA)
9. ELECTIONS NOMINATIONS: MARCH 12 - 18
All candidates must find nominees who will support you as a candidate
3 nominees required for Vice President positions
5 nominees required for President position
Provide name, e-mail and student number of each nominee
Nominees must be full time undergraduate students and members of the
DMSA
Nomination forms will be released soon
No campaigning during the nomination period
10. ELECTIONS CAMPAIGNING: MARCH 19 - 23
No official resources of the DMSA nor the Dan department may be used
Same goes for SSSC & USC, due to our affilitation with these student
councils
Campaigning only allowed between March 19 and 23rd.
11. ELECTIONS DAY: MARCH 24
Speeches & Meet and Greet (March 24)
On March 24, all candidates will gather to make a short
speech, answer questions and meet their constituents
Election (March 24 – 25)
Election will be online via WesternLinks
Only DMSA members have the right to vote.
