17. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation was established in 1992 by Congress. It is a non-profit agency whose mission is “to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes and to provide resources to assist their survivors in rebuilding their lives.” Donations are needed to be able to offer the help and support these families need.
