Location: New York, NY Project Size: 15,000 sq ft Product Lines: Herman Miller, Knoll, Davis, Arnold Architect: The Switzer Group The Challenge Modernizing office to reflect the Switzer Group’s fine work and image This architecture firm had the same corporate headquarters in midtown for 15+ years. When they moved to new headquarters, they needed to create a space that reflected their brand and style of work. Their office is often a showroom for their clients. The Solution Clean, crisp aesthetic with open-plan design The Switzer Group’s new space is clean and crisp. It offers a perfect balance of open plan stations for staff, and private offices for executives. The use of glass walls throughout the space allows for more natural light penetration and makes the rooms feel larger and more open. The Herman Miller Canvas workstations were designed to be low and linear to promote interaction and collaboration between team members. Low storage separates individual workstations and offers added worksurface area. Hints of red are used to bring color into the space and match the company logo. The white laminate boardroom table fills the room, yet disappears when displaying presentation materials. The black leather chairs and white leather built-in bench offer ample seating with elegant touches.
