WHY IT USED FOR?
SOME IMPORTANT SETTINGS IN PHP.INI

6. WHAT IS PHP.INI ?
it is a configuration file that is used to customize
behaviour of PHP at runtime.

7. WHAT IS A CONFIGUARION FILE?
configuration files,
or config files configure
the initial settings for
some computer programs.
They are used for user applications,
server processes and operating
system settings.

8. • lines beginning with semicolons are ignored.
• Keys are case sensitive, values are not.
• Booleans can be represented by..
• basic settings are language options, resource limit
data handling, file uploads, etc..

9. SOME IMPORTANT SETTINGS IN PHP.INI
display_errors=off/on
determines whether errors
should be printed to the
screen as part of the output

10. session.gc_maxlifetime = time_In_sec
This setting is how long a
session is valid on your
system.
The default length of time
is 24 minutes.

11. short_open_tag = 0
<? ?>
If you ever have the need to
embed PHP in XML, you may
run into this.

12. upload_max_filesize = 10M
The file size allowed to be
uploaded.
max_file_uploads = integer
The maximum number of
files allowed to be
uploaded simultaneously.

13. max_execution_time= integer
This sets the maximum
time in seconds a script
is allowed to run.
default time is 30sec
Memory_limit = 128M
This sets the maximum
amount of memory in
bytes that a script is
allowed to allocate.

14. disable_functions = [function1,function2...]
This directive allows you
to disable certain
functions .
disable_classes = [class1,class2...]
This directive allows you
to disable certain classes.

15. upload_tmp_dir = [DIR]
Temporary directory for HTTP
uploaded files (will use
system default if not specified).

16. allow_url_fopen =on/off
This option enables the
URL-aware fopen
wrappers that enable
accessing URL object like
files.
Description:
If allow_url_fopen =off
File_get_content(url) will not work!!

17. mysql.default_host = hostname
mysql.default_user = username
mysql.default_password = password
