8. Looking Ahead
– Career Services is looking to continue to develop creative ways to
engage employers to enhance student-employer connections.
– One Year: We would be looking to develop a Formal Student Tour Program. Career
Services hosted an Employer-In-Residence program in the fall 2014 in our office which
resulted in minimal student attendance. We would be looking to incorporate employers into
Walk-In Hours instead.
– Two Year: Develop a Student Ambassador Program for Employers, Student Projects for
one department
– Focus on the diversity of employers engaged with Career Services
– One Year: Review research of who is not utilizing services and plan employer outreach for
the year
– Two Year: Double employer engagement for one area of growth at the university
– Focus on the diversity of students engaged with Career Services
– One Year: Inclusion in university diversity strategic initiatives, collaboration with Graduate
Student Advisory Board, collaboration with one new student club (LASO)
– Two Year: Increase the diversity of students engaged with Career Services (i.e. Annual
Career Fair)
– Increase the level of engagement with employers
– One Year: Develop an Advisory Board, Change the mindset of various offices across the
campus to include us in conversations with employers they are engaged with (Purchasing
and Veteran’s Affairs)
– Two Year: Develop a Sponsorship Program
