Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Ref letter AK
1. May 27, 2015
Dear Sir or Madam:
RE: Letter of Reference for Allison Kase
As the SVP, Financial Services Practice for S&P Data LLC (North America), I first met Allison in the
Spring of 2014 while we were recruiting for the position of Operations Manager located in our
Cleveland Ohio office.
Given the strong competition for the role, we selected Allison based on her previous experience and
related background; along with what we felt would be a good personality fit within the culture of the
S&P Data organization.
Important to note, and with kudos to Allison, is the context within which Allison was hired: this was a
new Division, with new S&P Data clients and a new team to S&P Data for Allison to lead.
Furthermore, while Allison had local, direct leadership to lean on as required, I was leading the
Financial Services Practice virtually. Point is this was a unique challenge, which Allison embraced.
There were several qualities that Allison was able to employ that allowed her and her new team to
effectively launch multiple programs under our new strategy and drive results early in the process.
First, Allison was adaptive. She was very quickly able to assimilate into her environment with little
direction or guidance and was able to embrace the S&P Data culture in order to establish herself,
her new role within the company and set the foundation for recruiting & growing her team.
Allison is proactive when she needs to be but not afraid to use her judgement and ask for help when
required. Her leadership style is engaging and authentic, traits that were utilized in recruiting and
building a new team; where I personally witnessed high levels of support and follow-ship by Allison’s
direct reports towards her.
Building a new line of business does not come without its challenges. In my experience working with
Allison, she was instrumental and as my ‘eyes on the ground’, was able to collaborate with me and
with other internal teams effectively to work through issues and commit to a high sense of urgency;
all while still focusing on quality, customer experience and ultimately actions and results.
Allison brings a sense of humility with positive mental outlook to all situations, where clients and
colleagues alike truly enjoy working with Allison; knowing full well she’s committed to delivering
quality service and positive outcomes.
It was my pleasure to have worked with Allison.
Sincerely,
Mark Livingston
