2. This is one of the first shots, it is obviously filmed using a cctv camera due to
the time at the bottom of the frame. The long shot shows a character which
featured in the film before carrying a little boy. The words ‘Katie and Hunters
whereabouts remained unknown’ creates enigma as this film will feature both
of them returning. The shot has a blue tinge, this is again to create the camera
effect. Using handheld and cctv camera shots is often used in films this is to
make it seem more realistic.
3. This point of view shot shows a young boy. In the trailer it explains that he doesn't’t
have any more family and the family in the film takes him in but he is possessed. A
lot of children are used in horrors as I mentioned before because they are
portrayed as innocent. He Is wearing simply trousers, a t shirt and a hoodie so he is
not to look out of place. The look on his face shows that he is not happy and that
he is evil. In the second shot it shows the young boy who is playing with a tracking
device game but he is talking to somebody but no one is there. Again he he looks
possessed.
4. This over the shoulder shot shows a laptop screen. On the screen there is research of a
symbol. The family find the symbol drawn in the sand pit and also drawn over the little
boy. Symbol’s are used to create enigma as nobody else knows what it means so it also
creates a sense of danger.
In the trailer the possessed little boy draws the same symbol all over the family’s little
boy. (as shown in the second shot). This is where things begin to go wrong as the little
boy who has been welcomed in to their house has brought a ghost in to the house.
5. One of the last shots shows the girl in the in the air. She is obviously being lifted up by
some kind of ghost as the whole film is about a paranormal ghost that is in the house.
This is used to scare the audience. It scares the audience as they think that it may
happen to one of them as it is set in a family home in a normal setting. There are a lot of
shots used that show ‘paranormal activity’. There is no music played throughout the
film, just loud noises to make the audience jump. If a trailer makes you jump it makes
you remember the trailer and the film name.
