1. (Start on the back) … I'm neither communicative nor a tactile person, and I did not know how God could use
me. But I have changed in this camp. The children have taught me to touch. I’ve stopped being afraid of it.
God changed me and I could freely touch the children and communicate with them. In order to help them, I
often closed my eyes and tried to see the world tactilely, as they do. I learned to rejoice, watching how blind
children experienced ecstasy and happiness, touching leaves, flowers, animals. What a pity that sighted
children do not notice that they are surrounded by such a wonderful world, many feeling joy only from
computer games or another plastic toy. These children are sociable and open. Blind children are not tempted
by the lust of the eyes, and perhaps therefore they appreciate what is inside. They accept others as they are;
their world is not so pedantic. I was also amazed by their unity. They are always together as one team;
this is what we lack in the age of individualism. They help each other navigate in space and help those
who have fallen. They are not irritated by the slowness of the others. They are sympathetic, friendly, and
positive. And I saw how much God loves these children, and how He is close to them. And how wonderful
it is that through such camps they open their hearts to Christ and begin to see with spiritual eyes”
