A case of Large recurrent Ventral Hernia BY DR. AHMAD UZAIR QURESHI ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SURGERY KING EDWARD MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, LAHORE
Bio- data  Mr. M N  Age: 28 year/ Male  Unmarried  R/O : Dharampura Lahore
Clinical Summary  Underwent laparotomy for Blunt trauma abdomen in 2009  Anastomosis leaks and re-do laparotomy is done on 14th post operative day  Stoma is sited and midline wound dehisced  Midline wound closes by secondary intention  Stoma reversal done 5 months postoperatively
 He has now started the job as a Gardener  8 months followup – there is No herniation No Wound infection
Component Separation operation

Common complications 1. Wound infection 2. Reherniation ( 0 – 36%)
Abandoned trial due to high rate of complications with Mesh repair

  • 2. Bio- data  Mr. M N  Age: 28 year/ Male  Unmarried  R/O : Dharampura Lahore
  • 3. Clinical Summary  Underwent laparotomy for Blunt trauma abdomen in 2009  Anastomosis leaks and re-do laparotomy is done on 14th post operative day  Stoma is sited and midline wound dehisced  Midline wound closes by secondary intention  Stoma reversal done 5 months postoperatively
