Innovation Labs (VIL)
Envisioning Labs has been running the Vancouver
Innova,on Labs since September 2013; it is an open
pla8orm for anybody interested in discussing and
learning about new technological trends and their
poten=al applica=on in business, society and the
environment. The group has aBracted an eclec=c
mix of technologists, sociologists, researchers,
designers and overall innova=on enthusiasts.

Sessions
There are two types of sessions at the Vancouver Innova=on
Labs:
Informa0onal Sessions
A typical meetup gathering were speakers are invited to
introduce new technologies to the innova=on community.
Discussions on innova=on trends, emerging technologies and
future scenarios are normally held aGer the talks.
Innova0on Challenge
This a a new, paid service in which sponsor organiza=ons
provide a problem to solve for a cash prize. Envisioning Labs
designs the workshops for teams to compete in a customized
idea=on session. Sponsor chooses to have the challenge open
(all members of the community can par=cipate) or closed
(invi=ng only people from the organiza=on).
The sponsor can opt to work with Envisioning Labs and the
winning team to build a prototype of the winning idea in a
Test Tube* project.
