Trina & GE team up in Japan
Trina Solar is partnering with GE Energy Financial Services on a 14MW DC solar farm
on Miyagi prefecture in Japan.
Construction of the facility in Ishinomaki will start at the end of April. It is expected to
reach commercial operation by June 2017.
Electricity generated will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power under a 20-year feed-in-tariff
contract at the rate of ¥36 per kWh.
GE Energy Financial Services will hold an 85% equity interest in the project, which it
acquired from Trina Solar under a membership interests purchase agreement.

Senvion opens Japan office
Senvion is steaming ahead with its globalisation plans as its opens an office in Japan
to service the local market, just weeks after opening a base in India.
Along with the new office, Senvion has also announced a 6.15MW turbine order for a
project in Japan.
The German manufacturer will supply three MM92 2.05MW turbines to a site in Japan
for an undisclosed customer. It will partner with local energy management firm
Meidensha Corporation on the project, Senvion added.
Senvion said its turbines would be among the first to be installed under the
government's new construction standards to cope with extreme wind loads.

Siemens to provide direct-drive
Siemens has secured its third wind-power order from Japan’s largest wind-power
developer, Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation headquartered in Tokyo.
Siemens will supply 13 direct-drive wind turbines of the type SWT-3.2-101 (rated at 3.2
MW each) for the 41.6-MW Eurus Higashi Yurihara wind-power plant.
The plant is being developed in Yurihonjo city.
