1 Introduction of my training company
1.1 Trans Europe Express
I did my training at ‘Trans Europe Express’, situated in Erpe-Mere.
1.2 First contact with the company
When I contacted the Managing Director in writing (Mr. Tom Tack), I soon got a reply with confirmation
that I was allowed to their company at the Administrative Department. Soon I was referred to the
accountant of the company. He would be the one to give me tasks.
1.3 Contact with the company manager in writing
18/08/2014: I have been able to contact the company via their website. In the e-mail I mentioned that
I'm a student in the last year of secondary education at Sint-Paulus Institute Herzele and that I would
like to do my traineeship there.
18/08/2014: I got a quick response in which they asked when the training of 1 week would take place,
so that they could check if it fitted in their work schedule.
18/08/2014: I told him that the training would take place from 20 October to 24 October.
19/08/2014: They confirmed that the traineeship could take place from 20 to 24 October 2014. If there
are appointments to be made, or should I have any questions, I could contact Mr. Baele from
Thursday 18/10/2014.

1.4 About the company
The company is situated in the services/transport sector. It is a Private Limited Company and has 25
employees and 9 servants. They sell pallets, cardboard boxes and protective equipment for products
that can damage during transport, but also companies (eg. Colruyt) can stock their products in the
warehouse of the company. Currently the building is divided in 3 parts: Colruyt and ASZ rent a part of
the warehouse, and Trans Europe Express is part of the company itself.
1.5 Expectations
This is a nice opportunity to see what the life of an accountant looks like. I’d like to be an accountant
later on. I would like to make personal contact with the employees and workers within the company,
and maybe even attend a meeting.
