PRESCRIBING RULES ON THE CANCELLATION OR
SUSPENSION OF CLASSES AND WORK IN GOVERNMENT
OFFICES DUE TO TYPHOONS, FLOODING, OTHER
WEATHER DISTURBANCES, AND CALAMITIES
Automatic Cancellation or Suspension of Classes & Work in
Government Offices:
a) Signal No. 1 - classes at pre-school in affected area shall be
automatically cancelled or suspended;
b) Signal No. 2 – classes at pre-school, elementary & secondary
levels shall be automatically cancelled or suspended;
c) Signal No. 3 or higher – classes at pre-school, elementary,
secondary, & tertiary levels, including graduate schools & work
in government offices shall be automatically cancelled or

Government Offices

Localized Cancellation or Suspension of Classes & Work in
Government Offices
No typhoon signal warning from PAGASA, there shall be a
localized cancellation or suspension of classes or work in
government offices to be implemented by the LCEs (in
coordination with PAGASA & NDRRMC specifically in high risk
areas)
Announcements – not later than 4:30 AM of the day on
cancellation of classes or work; not later than 11:00 AM for
suspension of work and classes in the afternoon – through
radio or television etc;
Cancellation or suspension of Classes & Work in
Government during other calamities – shall be declared
by the President of State of Calamity based on NDRRMC
recommendation
