2. Chapter 1
Self-Serving Bias , Entry 1
Self-Serving Bias is defined as an attributions by deciding on who or what is responsible for a
particular outcome. Self-Serving Bias also can influenced by a number of factors. We make
positive attribution that allow us to see ourselves in best possible light, we make external
attribution for negative and internal will be positive outcome. This social psychology which I
experienced in my daily life.
In my experience, I will always blame my team member when the problems come to the
team or failure in some of the project, especially the assignment given by teacher. The
reason of the negative outcome is the world surround me which is my teammates because
the problem or failure comes the project done by my teammates and it doesn’t related to
my work, so that I will blame them naturally. I will reward myself instead of my teammates
when the project is excellent or successfully done. The positive outcome is come within
myself because I felt that I am the one who afford the most in the project, I keep rush things
anytime and didn’t saw my teammate having rush in time . By this way, I shall reward the
most, so I will go seek some delicious food or clothes to reward myself or seek for the praise
by other people when I talk some about project to them.
3. Motivation, Entry 2
Motivation categories into two type which is the Intrinsic motivation and external
motivation. Intrinsic motivation define as taking a certain action for the sake of enjoyment
and it will lead us to be more fully engaged or leads to greater curiosity and pleasure on
something. Next will be the extrinsic motivation is defined as taking a certain action in
response to external pressure or obligation. This action might b done to avoid punishment
or earn a specific reward. It actually inhibit behaviours if used at the wrong time or
preferences for task that are intrinsically or extrinsically rewarded are influenced by culture.
In my experience, I try to finish the project or report as fast as possible because I need relax
so that I won’t feel stress at the last minute and also I can improve it when something wrong
or I can use those extra time to do another thing. The motivation which make me more
confidence and engage to action is last minute because it makes me overthinking on
negative matter for example out of title , no time to change , do thing carelessly and so I
will do it earlier. The motivation which to avoid the punishment instead getting reward is
relax because the problems by overthinking won’t happen in my mind and I want to play or
enjoy with my friends without bother.
4. Chapter 5
Attitude Formation, Entry 1
Attitude formation comes from implicit attitude and explicit attitudes. Implicit is form
without our consicious awareness and it may occur almost automatically. Explicit attitude is
an attitude that one recognizes and can be control by ourselves. The factors determine
whether an attitude is implicit or explicit has been categories into Affective, Behavioural and
Cognitive. Affective components of an attitude is what feelings or emotion are evolved by
the stimulus ,Behavioural components of an attitude is what actions do you intend to take
and cognitive component of an attitude is what do you think or know about the stimulus.
In my experience, the day I saw my friend was carrying many thing and some of the parts
has fell down, so help her to take up the thing and carry some part. The feeling from the
start is worry about her by carry so many things. So the action intend to take is go and help
her to afford some and I thought it is a source of happiness to help other also it is all about
sharing is caring.
5. Chapter 1
Social Facilitation, Entry 1
Social facilitation is all about the subsequent research confirmed that a well-learned
performance is enhanced in the presence of others. In 1898 Norman Triplett noted that
competitive cyclists performed better during races than during solo ride. So, it note as the
element of well-learned performance.
In my experience, I will be as usually when I going out with my brothers-friend. But when I
going out with girlfriend or ladies, I will be more gentle and polite on them to get more
attractive. In this case it allows me to get improve on my attitude by her attraction and
related to social facilitation as an advance performance.
6. Social Loafing, Entry 2
Social Loafing is defined as in individuals make less of an effort when in a group than they
would if they were attempting to achieve the goal on their own. In 1883 Max Ringelmann
conducted a study from which he concluded that an individual’s performance actually gets
worse in the presence of others.
In my experience, I been worked together with some of my teammate in some projects.
There are 10 meetings and I went every time but some of teammate absent some times,
after meeting we do start our work and I make less afford on it but they seems didn’t
release of it instead for those who absent sometime will get more afford on it. The social
loafing comes out between me and my members this is because I went to meeting every
time and it seems that I do more afford on it and those who absent actually they do more
afford on it but it seems less afford by perspective because they didn’t come to meeting and
another will felt they are not in charge more in project or they can’t saw what are they
afford in it.
