2. Our IDEA
Sub Genre= Cine Noir
A ex-hitman, tries to carry on his life but is affected
by his past. Not being able to forget about the people
he killed, even if it was for the greater good. He still
classes himself as a murderer.
His Character is shown as being disturbed by his
past and slightly manic.
3. Scenes
Begin with the man in his bathroom mirror as a
voiceover takes us through his thoughts and shows
his mental scaring as a result of his dangerous past.
He tries to erase blood from his hands that only he
can see.
Cut to a flashback of 4 years earlier where the
crimes of the man are shown as he kills three
people and is paid with mass sums of cash.
The LAst Scene cuts back to him back in the
bathroom, in black and white with the voiceover
again.
4. Focus Group
ResearchWe created a Focus group of males representing our target
audience
we did this so that we could construct our media product to be
tailored to the needs of the target audience
We used the focus group at this stage to help us in the planning
of our opening - once we had developed a rough sketch up of our
idea we went to the focus group and got there advice
When we presented them with our idea there thoughts were that
three murders would be too much for an opening and it would
take away from the enigma- taking on board this feedback we
agreed and decided that two murders would be sufficient.
6. Main Character Profile
Ex-Crinmal Profile:
-Anti Hero, as this is what the target audience said appealed
to them most.
-very Intelligent, never got caught for any of his murders, as
this is another area that the Target audience said appealed to
them.
-Frenzy man troubled by his past. This causes the audience
to sympathise with the character slightly as they can see that
he knows what he did was wrong- shows moral relatable side
to the character.
- Talks to himself, symbolising this insanity which the
character has developed.
7. -This is contrasted with the character in a flashback who is
shown murdering the two people. Here he is wearing a suit
and looks very smart and professional, emphasising how
much this has effected him and toying with the audiences
emotions, as they can see he is sorry for what he has
done. His remorse challenges the concept of morality and
provokes the audience to think about the nature of
remorse in relation to crimes.
8. Mise en Scene
Ex Criminal
-Presented in a contrasting way, shown
as smart and well dressed when carrying
out the murders and in the first and last
scene, when he is in the bathroom, he is
scrawny and rough looking.
-In the murder scene- will be wearing a
suit, very well groomed
-In the bathroom scenes- will be wearing
a dirty vest shirt, with a rough cut,
creating a shady look.
