With more than 45 members from 11
countries, Marine Parade
Toastmasters Club is one of the most
vibrant clubs in the district. Each
meeting, held every first and third
Fridays of the month (and third
Saturday for Advanced Projects) is
always filled with colors and well-
attended by interesting members and
guests from all walks of life.
4. We are a family !
Communication and leadership development of
each member are important to us and are
developed through internal training and
mentoring, but we also cultivate the strong
bond among our members. We can say that we
are more than just a club, we are a family!
5. We are champions!
We call ourselves “The Club of Champions”
not just because of many contest champions
from our club but also because of our
CHAMPION SPIRIT. The journey and awards
of our friends are constant inspiration for us to
try harder and improve our speech craft.
6. MPTMC Turns Five!
On June 29, 2013 we celebrated our 5th
anniversary with Emeritus Senior
Minister Goh Chok Tong as our Guest of
Honor.
It was an event to commemorate the
humble beginnings of our club, to
celebrate the achievements we have
accomplished for the last 5 years and to
kick off the success of our future.

Our fifth anniversary dinner showcased
some of our most talented speakers.
Our Members, guests and family
members enjoyed the programme of
Laughter Yoga, games and performance
by our very own Sunshine Band.

9. National Day Celebrations 2013
On August 2, 2013 , we conducted our
first themed-meeting for the National
Day 2013 celebrations. It was also the
first time we have hosted the Pirates of
the Golden Gavel challenge.
10. Humorous Speech and Speech Evaluation Contest
Our Humorous Speech and Speech
Evaluation Contest was held on August
20,2013. Everyone was in high spirits as
they were entertained by newly-groomed
Humorous speakers and evaluators from
Marine Parade TMC.
For the Humorous Speaking Contest,
Karolina Gwinner was crowned
Champion with her speech “Dating
Toastmasters”. Leanne Ulibarri emerged
First runner-up with her speech, “The
Diva”.
Roshni Wadhwani was the Champion for
the Speech Evaluation Contest. Karolina
and Leanne were First and Second
runners-up respectively.
Karolina and Roshni eventually
represented the club at the Area contest
held on August 31, 2013. Karolina
emerged as Area A2 Champion for
