Smartphones Trends in 2016
Every year the same thing happens, a certain manufacturers decide to excel in hardware with a
particular component or differential functions in software. Well, same trend goes for smartphone
market. With all the major releases in 2015 and first quarter of 2016, we are having a few
mobiles, which will rule the realm for almost whole year, or may be beyond.
Curvier screens
The Galaxy S6 edge and edge + of the South Korean firm have brought a preview of the future.
Curved screen as they have already mounted on the Note Edge or G Flex LG mobiles, but this
time with three faces. This feature is expected to become “generalized” in 2016, when Samsung
will have longer range use and exploit its property in exclusive and probably, as Sony does with
its powerful cameras, allow others to use their screens for this type of configuration. With
Samsung S7, the curves will be smoother and galvanized than its predecessors.
4GB RAM, the new “standard”
One, two and three ... is not an old account, but the standards in RAM have been increased in
recent years in the high range mobiles. And yes, Samsung has prepared Note 5 with 6GB of
RAM, but the “standard” to be generalized is the 4GB of RAM, more than enough to run
smoothly any option of multitasking on Android and iOS, no doubt. Apart from the most
anticipated Samsung S7, other 2016 phones with 4GB RAM include OPPO R7s, Asus Zenfone
2, Lenovo K80 4GB Smartphone, Xiaomi MI Note Pro, and Samsung Note 5.
Speaking about 4K screens
QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels began to succeed in the high-end catalog is also
positioning itself as a characteristic “standard” for this year. And yes, there are manufacturers
who still rely on the full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels, but Sony has taken the first step including 4K
screen on Xperia Z5 Premium. Therefore, there is high competition in the sector is evident that in
2016 we will see more 4K models. And although Sony rescaled most content to Full HD
resolution and the number of pixels is a drag on the battery, the war of technical specifications is
still raging, as every year.
More efficient 10 nanometers processors
The South Korean firm has demonstrated its character with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and
derivatives last year. It has been unchecked in performance, thanks to the untying of Qualcomm
in high-end smart phone, and also this has made them avoid overheating the more powerful
Snapdragon, a problem that affects teams like HTC One M9 or OnePlus One and 2, among some
others.
Well, for this year they are already preparing 10-nanometer processors that obviously will offer a
much higher performance compared to today’s 14 nanometers that are mounting their strongest
teams. In addition, this change in the hardware means greater energy efficiency and, therefore,
guarantee of having more autonomy even with lower capacity batteries.
Touch Screens Force Sensor
China’s Huawei brand, against all odds, was ahead of Apple with its Huawei Mate S with Force
Touch technology. Now the Cupertino firm has also launched its 3D Touch terminals with both
the technology iPhone 6s as the iPhone 6s Plus. In both cases, we are talking about a technology
that allows detecting the pressure we do on the screen with your finger, and the interesting thing
is profit through software. In the case of Apple, it allows us to zoom and display special menus.
In the case of Huawei, we can use the screen as scale, zoom and other functions.
Will we see more mobile in 2016?
These are the characteristics that, according to the trend of manufacturers, we will see in
smartphones in 2016. In any case, we will see other technological innovations such as the first
folding mobile, a milestone that Samsung mobiles seems to mark.
2015 ends, and if you want to buy a new smartphone, you have to pay attention to the new
smartphones that will be launched in early 2016. Specifically, let’s talk about the best phones
that will arrive in the first quarter of this 2016.
1. Xiaomi redmi 3
We started talking about the Xiaomi redmi 3 because it seems to be one of the first to be
launched in 2016. The smartphone would arrive in January. It was said to be launched in January
the new Xiaomi Mi 5, but it will not, but this smartphone to be launched in January would be the
Xiaomi redmi 3. It will be the most basic smartphone Xiaomi launched, although it is possible
that after this is launch a cheaper version based on the same. It could resemble the redmi Xiaomi
Note 3 with a metallic design, but with a 4.7 inch screen with a resolution Full HD or HD. You
could have a MediaTek Helio X10 processor eight-core upper-middle range, and with a RAM of
2 GB. A great smartphone to take into account its price, which would be about 150 euros.

2. Meizu Meizu Pro 5 Mini and Mini Metal
Meizu also launch at the beginning of the year two smartphones that will be very similar. In fact,
the two are also very similar to Xiaomi redmi 3 then would have a metal design and with a
screen of about 4.7 inches. However, the Meizu Pro 5 will be different from Meizu Mini Mini
Metal. The latter will be a basic range smartphone, while the Meizu Mini Pro 5 will be a high-
end smartphone, inspired by the Meizu Pro 5. Obviously, this will be more expensive than the
Meizu Mini Metal. In any case, the two could be officially launched next month in January.
3. Motorola Moto E 2016
Although Meizu and Xiaomi basic range are the economic motives good value / price, the truth
is that the Motorola Moto E 2015 has become the smartphone most popular basic range, for
having an affordable price, but officially sold in Europe, which does not happen with basic
mobile or Meizu as basic mobile Xiaomi. The new Motorola Moto E 2016 will again be one of
the most popular phones.
Motorola Moto E 2015
4. Samsung Galaxy S7
However, the smartphone level that will launch early next year will be the Samsung Galaxy S7,
the new flagship of Samsung will probably become the best mobile market, a smartphone to take
into account whether looking for a mobile top level, and have a big budget.
5. HTC One M10
The HTC One M10 will be another smartphones high level to be launched next year, a
smartphone that will compete with the Samsung Galaxy S7, so also will be taken into account if
you want a mobile phone high level. Usually always it says that the Samsung Galaxy S is the
best of the year, but the truth is that the HTC One M10 is a mobile high level as well.
6. Huawei P9
Finally, and in March, Huawei launched the new P9. This would be Huawei’s flagship, high-end
smartphone with a high-level design. Huawei’s new phone will also compete with the Samsung
Galaxy S7 and the HTC One M10. Although it will be a high level smartphone, it is likely to be
cheaper, and it’s something worse than the flagship Samsung and HTC. In any case, it will be
one of those special smartphones with a quality / price more balanced than the best phones on the
market.
