TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival
Welcomed on arrival at Noi Bai airport by IntimateAsia tour guide, and then you will be transferred
by private vehicle to your hotel in town. Begin your discovery journey from Hanoi, our capital.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi - Sapa
Today, city tour of Hanoi includes Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the 11th Century QuanThanh
Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Literature - Vietnam's first
university and then explore local life in Ancient Quarter by an exclusive walking tour. Evening train to
Sa Pa. Overnight on board (B).
Day 3: Sapa
Early morning arrive in Lao Cai Railways Station. Breakfast at a local restaurant then transfer to visit
a weekly hill tribe market. Afternoon road to Sa Pa. Check in hotel and relax. Overnight in Sa Pa (B).
Options for:
Tuesday: Coc Ly Market -A very small market where you can meet with the Flower Hmong,
Black Zao, Nung and Tay. During your visit you will also take a boat ride along Chay River and
a short walk to Trung Do village of Tay minority.
Wednesday: Sin Cheng Market -This small market in Si Ma Caidistrict, (37 km from Bac Ha) is
a great location to meet the White Hmong, Flower Hmong, Black Dao, Tay and Giay ethnic
costumes. Sin Cheng market is the most unspoiled market in this remote area, near the Sino-
Vietnamese border. Road conditions are poor and the market can be suspended during bad
weather.
Thursday: Lung KhauNhin - 15 km out of Sapa en-route to Lai Chau you will cross the 1900
meter high Tram Ton pass (Vietnam's highest). A variety of minority tribes people gather to
sell their wares. Expect to see Tai Lu, Tai Laos, White Tai, and H'mong amongst others.
Saturday: Can Cau Market – Located in a valley surrounded by mountains. A small but
fascinating open air market. It is a blaze of color, being regularly represented by many of the
ethnic minority groups.
3. Sunday: Bac Ha Market - This a massive gathering of hill tribe and ethnic minority people and
the most famous of all the markets in the region. As well as livestock and foodstuffs, one can
also buy handicrafts and textiles.
Sunday: Muong Hum Market - Located 60 km northwest of Lao Cai, 35 km from Y Ty border
and totally untouched by tourism. On Sunday, Muong Hum is always packed with colorful
ethnic minorities such as Ha Nhi, Phu La, Tu Di, Black Dao, Giay, Red Hmong as well as Black
Hmong. Then a beautiful drive from Muong Hum to O Quy Ho – another side of Hoang Lien
Son Pass to Sapa, with the spectacular scenery of Hoang Lien Son Mountain View, jungle and
hidden villages along the way.
Day 4: Sapa
Breakfast at hotel. Another day in Sapa for a walk to visit colorful ethnic market and old town with
some vestige of French colonial era. Then trek to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van village where
inhabited by the Hmong, Dao and Dzay ethnic people. Overnight in Sapa (B).
Day 5: Sapa - Hanoi
Morning, you will take a hike to Sin Chai and Cat Cat village to experience the daily life of the Black
Hmong and great scenery of mountain and terrace rice field on the way. Afternoon free until transfer
to Lao Cai station. En route, visit Ma Tra village, home to Black H’mong. Overnight train to Hanoi.
Day 6: Hanoi – Tam Coc
Arrive early in Hanoi. Transfer to a hotel nearby station for a shower and breakfast before traveling
by road to Tam Coc. Upon arrival, visit Hoa Lu, a former Vietnamese Royal city. Then short drive to
Thung Nham valley for a 2-hour boat trip from Linh Coc pier and visit But Cave. Overnight in Tam Coc
(B).
Day 7: Tam Coc - Halong Bay
Morning depart Tam Coc for Halong, through the Red River Delta. Embark a traditional junk for your
two day cruise to explore Halong Bay with its incredible limestone rock formations. Lunch served on
board while sailing inside the picturesque bay. Visiting a floating village and free time for relaxing on
the beach and kayaking. Overnight on board (B,L,D).
Day 8: Halong Bay - Hue
Today you continue the cruise through Halong Bay passing many beautiful spots. Disembark at noon
and you are transferred to Noi Bai airport for evening flight to Hue. You’re met upon arrival and
transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Hue (B,L).
Day 9: Hue
Morning visit Imperial Citadel with many well-preserved royal monuments in Hue and the most
famous Tu Duc’s tomb. Afternoon embark on a boat trip up the river to Thien Mu Pagoda, built on a
4. hill in 1601 by Prince Nguyen Hoang. Visit the pagoda and continue the boat trip to Thuy Bieu village
which is known for its fresh grapefruit, bike ride or walk in the village to experience local life. Late
afternoon, enjoy herbal foot bath and home hosted dinner at a local family. Then transfer back to
hotel in town. Overnight in Hue (B, D).
Day 10: Hue - Hoi An
Morning transfer to Hoian via Hai Van Pass.Visit Cham Museum and Marble Mountain in Danang.
Arrive Hoi An at noon. Afternoon, enjoy a cyclo trip to explore Hoi An ancient town with its restored
18th century merchants' houses. Overnight in Hoi An (B).
Day 11: Hoi An
Begin with interesting half day learning about Vietnamese food and the Hoi An way of life. A guided
tour of Hoi An’s colorful central market, followed by an interesting and informative tour of The
Market Restaurant watching live cooking demonstrations with many food tastings. 2 hour hands on
in-depth cooking class, lunch, recipes and Vietnamese cooking utensil to take home. Afternoon you
are free at leisure. Relax on the private beach or by the resort pool or perhaps rent a bicycle to ride
into Hoi An rural area to discover local people life. Overnight in Hoi An (B, L).
Day 12: Hoi An- Nha Trang
At leisure until transfer to Danang Airport for short flight to NhaTrang. Meet upon arrival and
transfer to your hotel for check in. Free on your own for relaxing on the beautiful beach. Overnight in
NhaTrang (B)
Day 13: Nha Trang
Day excursion out to the bay of Nhatrang, one of 28 best bays in the world. Transfer to Cau Da port
and embark on a traditional boat sailing to Tri Nguyen Aquarium, then cruise to Mun Island that very
well-known as the best island for snorkeling where you can see lots of lives colorful corals and fish.
Time for swimming, snorkeling or diving here, in crystal blue water at Mun Island. Back to the boat
and sail to Tranh Island where you will have a fresh lunch here. On the way back you will visit an
interesting local fishing village before going to the shore. Overnight in NhaTrang (B, L)
Day 14: Nha Trang
Full day free for your swimming and other activities on the beautiful beach. Overnight in NhaTrang
(B)
Day 15: Nha Trang- Ho Chi Minh City
At leisure until transfer to Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon). Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. This
afternoon visit the War Remnants or History Museum and walk to visit former Presidential Palace to
the major sights of colonial Saigon includes the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, Continental
Hotel, Opera House and City Hall. Overnight in Saigon (B)
Day 16: Tay Ninh and Cu Chi Tunnels
5. Morning depart for Tay Ninh, the head quarter of Cao Dai religion. Visit the impressive Holy Temple
of Caodaism, the famous local religion that is the symbol of the curious combination of the
Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity and Buddhism before attending the fantastic mid-day mass. Then
you will be transferred to Cu Chi, the famous network of tunnels were used as the base from which
the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi Tunnels consist of
more than 250km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to
underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels, the tunnels are between 0.5 to 1m
wide, just enough for a person to crawl along. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Tre
Begin deep excursion to Mekong Delta. Explore waterways and local people life by embarking on a
boat trip. Stop to visit local cottage factories where bricks, popcorns coconut candies are made.
Return to the boat and begin a sampan ride along small canals, admire the scenery and the daily life
of the local villagers. Lunch will be at a local family serving specialties of the area. Then drive to Cho
Lach, the land of coconuts. Settle into the homestay “Jardin Du Mekong”. Enjoy a biking tour around
the village, back to homestay for a hand- on cooking Vietnamese food. Dinner with the family.Relax
with a foot soaking with lemon grass in the garden. Overnight at JardLe in Du Mekong (B, L, D).
Day 18: Ben Tre- Cai Be – Tra On
At leisure until take a short boat trip to Cai Be. Board the Le Cochinchine for a delightful Mekong
cruiseto Can Tho via Tra On. Up to river tide, disembark and make a pleasant walking or biking on the
footpaths of the countryside to discover tropical fruit orchards and the local people's activities,
especially some orchards (orange grove) with its famer. Cruise to continue to Tra On. Enjoy the
magnificent sunset on the river. Dinner and overnight on board (B, L, D)
Day 19: Tra On – Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, the cruise to continue to Can Tho. Enjoy the magnificent sunrise on the river.
Leisurely cruise up the Bassac river while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Arrive Can Tho, a small boat
will take you explore the Cai Rang market one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong Delta
with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space as owners attempt to sell their goods.
And through the palm-shaded creek to see local houses and green orchards. Disembark around 10
a.m. at the Ninh Kieu wharf and begin the journey back to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi
Minh City (B)
Day 20: Ho Chi Minh City – Departure
Breakfast at your hotel. At leisure until transfer to the airport for departure flight home or to other
destination. End of tour.
Options for beach extension to Mui Ne, Phu Quoc or Con Dao Island.
