It’s Objective: <ul><li>The retail food industry is a vital part of the economic activity of every country. </li></ul><ul><li>Food retail is just like any other business of the service industry. Every player needs to differentiate itself from competitions to get bigger market share. </li></ul><ul><li>By looking for e-grocery business models that have a better chance of success, this study intends to help understand strategic decision making in service industry. </li></ul>

Case Analysis Abstract: <ul><li>This research found that the management team’s knowledge and experience in the supermarket industry is an important factor in deciding an e-grocer’s success or failure. </li></ul><ul><li>Using a cautious and slow expansion strategy helps e-grocers control expenses and stay in the game. </li></ul><ul><li>Using the brick-and-mortar-supported store-pick model, which requires a lower start-up cost in most markets, helps an e-grocer survive in today’s market. </li></ul>
