2. ? How Westcoast recycles plastic? Plastics are collected from a variety of industrial based businesses from Metro Vancouver and western Canada. Westcoast collects all plastic scraps, codes 1 – 7. All loose film plastics such as shrink wrap or poly sheets, are collected using a rear loader compactor truck. Any Rigid Plastics or processed materials are collected using a 5 ton truck or tractor/trailer.

16. ENVIRONMENTAL / SOCIALIMPACT Westcoast Plastic Recycling helped divert approximately 4.7 million pounds of plastic from going into our landfills in 2008. Recycling plastic will help conserve a non-renewable resource, clean up our local landfills, and create job opportunities.
