Mass Media
refers to the various means materials or products, both in
print and electronic broadcasting form used by
transmitting, distributing or diffusing information to a
large number of people.
In the world of today, media as necessary as food and
clothing.
Media is considered as "mirror" of the modern society

4. WHAT IS THE SOCIAL MOVEMENT ?
 Social movements are a type of group action. They are large, sometimes informal, groupings of individuals
or organizations which focus on specific political or social issues. In other words, they carry out, resist, or
undo a social change.
 According to Turner and Killian(1972):SOCIAL MOVEMENT is a collective behavior based on some
continuity to promote or resist change in society or group of which it is a part. It is characterized by (i)
Collective action which is initiated, organized and sustained,(ii) Ideology, and (iii)Oriented towards social
change

 The manipulation of information for the benefit of a particular interest group or group of people
most especially by the moneyed class who can pay the prohibitive cost of the print and electronic
broadcast media.
 The manipulation of the large groups of people through media outlets for the benefits of the
particular political party and or group of people.
 Bias political or otherwise towards favoring a certain individual.
