Note: This survey is carried out annually by HayGroup . The top 20 companies is fairly consistent list with 2 or 3 dropping out / coming in each year - only the relative rankings changing. In 2008 there was more specific analysis on leadership behaviours than last year. Hence using this data. Many of the 2010 respondents felt the recession was behind them and they need to focus on preparing for the upturn. So areas like strategic focus got high ratings. However, ‘execution’ (getting things achieved through others) and ‘inspirational leadership’ remained as differentiating factors from the rest of the survey population.
