Dr. Phillips is a mad scientist supervillain attempting to create apprentices through psychotic experiments. He experiments on Jack Noir, an ordinary teenage boy, injecting him with a liquid that transforms his behavior from drowsy to dark and evil, showing the experiment was a success. The film opening takes place in Dr. Phillips' secret headquarters and establishes him and Jack Noir as archetypal mad scientist and apprentice characters through their actions and costumes.

• He shows the stereotypes of a scientist,
Surgical Mask, Surgical gloves and Long
Coat. The long coat connotes he is not a
real scientist.
• His anger in the first part of the opening
shows he's a psychopathic super villain.
• The location is in Dr. Phillips secret secret
HQ which follows the stereotypes of a
super villain.

3. • Jack Noir is the main character in this film
opening, he is an ordinary teenage boy
who becomes Dr. Phillips psychotic
experiment.
• He looks like an ordinary patient as he is
dressed in patient clothing.
• Once Dr. Phillips has injected Jack with the
liquid his behaviour changes from a drowsy
state to dark and evil. This shows that the
experiment was a success and shows the
stereotypes of a normal super villain.

4. • We represented gender and age by
using a older teenage boy similar to
Spiderman with Peter Parker and Kick-
Ass with Kick-Ass and Red Mist.
• We have used a teenage boy as he is
the Dr. Phillips apprentice, this shows
that he will learn everything from him
and grow with age.
• This will determine our audience, as it
will be a male dominate audience that
would watch the film.
