SYSTEM REQUIREMENT
Requirements For Nile
To use Nile, you must be running WordPress 3.1 or higher, PHP5 or higher, and mysql 5 or higher. We have tested it with Mac, Windows and Linux. Below are a list of items you should ensure your host
can comply with.
Check to ensure that your web host has the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
Always make sure they are running the latest version of WordPress.
You can download the latest release of WordPress from official WordPress website.
Always create secure passwords FTP and Database.
Hosting is more secure when PHP applications, like WordPress, are run using your account’s username instead of the server’s default shared username (www or www-data). The most common way for
hosting companies to do this is using suPHP. Just ask your potential host if they run suPHP or something similar.
DOWNLOAD AND INSTALLATION
1. How to download
Step 1: Go to ThemeLead homepage (http://themelead.com/) >>> Product (http://themelead.com/products/) >>> Nile Free WP theme (http://themelead.com/project/nile-free-wordpress-magazine-theme/)
Step 2: Click to Download Free.
Step 3: Fill your email address and then click Download to receive link download.
Step 4: You’ll get file nile-1.0.1-unzip-me-first.zip
Step 4: Unzip this file and get nile-1.0.1-unzip-me-first directory including:
README-FIRST.txt
Documentations folder: including HTML online documetations
tl-nile-1.0.1-installation-file.zip is Installation theme
Plugins folder: including all required plugins for Nile theme
nile-data.xml: sample data for Nile that you can import to your site
2. Install via WordPress
Step 1 – Navigate to Appearance>Themes.
Step 2 – Click Install Themes and hit the upload button.
Step 3 – Navigate to find the “tl-nile-1.0.1-installation-file.zip” on your computer and click “Install Now”.
Step 4 – Wait while the theme is uploaded and installed.
Step 5 – Activate Niletheme. Go to Appearance>Themes and Activate Nile.
3. Install via FTP
Step 1 – Log into your hosting space via an FTP software.
Step 2 – Unzip the Nile.zip file and ONLY use the extracted Nile theme folder.
Step 3 – Upload the extracted Nile theme folder into wp-content > themes folder.
Step 4 – Activate the newly installed theme. Go to Appearance > Themes and activate it.
Step 6 – Follow the steps to install and activate. The other plugins we include are integrated into the theme and all will be ready to use when you right away.
4. Common Install Errors
4.1. Are You Sure You Want To Do This?
If you get the “Are You Sure You Want To Do This” message when installing file via WordPress, it means you have an upload file size limit. Install the theme via FTP if this happens, or call your hosting
company and ask them to increase the limit.
4.2. Upload Size Limit
If you get this message when you install Nile on localhost, here a solution (http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/) for you.

6.1. Manual Import
In /Sample Data/ folder, you can find the file:
nile-data.xml All posts, pages, menus data
Step 1. Go to Tools > Import, then click on Wordpress
Step 2. If it is not yet installed before, you have to install it. On the popup window, click on "Install Now".
Step 3. After installed successfully, click on Activate Plugin & Run Importer

Step 4. Browse for [path-to-your-downloaded-package]/Installation File/Sample Data/nilr-data.xml and
click Upload File and Import. If your server does not support .gz file, use gameplan-data.xml file.
Step 5. After uploaded, the confirmation page appears. Check the Download and import file attachments option and click Submit.

Step 6. When you see message "All done. Have fun!", you will know that the import is done.
Note: you may need to re-import the second time if the data is large. Back to Step 1. until you see the message below
Step 7. Go to Settings > Reading, set Front page displays to A Static page. Choose Home page as Front page and Blog as Posts page.

Step 8. Go to Appearance > Menus, choose Main Menu menu as Primary Menu.
Step 11. OK, DONE!
SHORTCODES AND WIDGETS CONFIGURATION
1. Widget configuration
To customize widget in Nile theme, you must go to Administrator Panel>>> Appearance >>> Widget. You can see some widgets and the way to create it.

On the left column, there are available widget of the theme;on the right column, there are available positions to put the widget in. Below is the list of widgets and positions, let’s look back at the layout
structure to be reminded.

Top Header: At the top of the header in layout structure, It is the best choice for showing the spotlight content in your website such as hot news or member login.
Navigation: is showing custom menu.
Slider: In the demo page we use B Slider in this position.
Body top: it's under the B Image Slider and on the search tool.
Main body: In the demo page we use our Responsive Category Slider in this position.
Default Sidebar: is showing Nile Hot Topic, Nice Member Login, Nile Hot Topic widgets and Video frame.

Single Sidebar: is the sidebar customized for single posts. If there is no widget added in it, it will take information from the default sidebar.
Page Sidebar: is the sidebar customized for pages. If there is no widget added in it, it will take information from the default sidebar.
Categories Sidebar: is the sidebar customized for category listing pages. If there is no widget added in it, it will take information from the default sidebar.
Search Sidebar: is the sidebar customized for search result pages. If there is no widget added in it, it will take information from the default sidebar.

1.1.B Image Slider
B Image Slider is a beautiful responsive slider with multitude transition effects see full and friendly with any portable devices.
Go to back-end settings (Administrator Panel >>> B Slide) to add, edit and move to trash each slide.

To add and edit each slide, you can pay attention to the information as below:
Title: The name at the top of slide. For example, Flexibility.
Description: the text will be shown when you click to read more.
Add media: add photo, video to the text.
Excerpt: are optional hand-crafted summaries of your content. For example, Complementary Category Slider.
B Sliders: choose any category you created.
Featured Image: set up image for each slide.
1.2. B Members
To customize it, go to Administrator Panel>>> Members
Front-end settings

You can add, remove, or edit any member.
In editing member, you can change Name, Text, Member position, Contact Member, Excerpt and Featured Image.
1.3. B Contact
In back-end setting (go to Administrator Panel>>> Contacts), you can add, or click to edit or delete (in Bulk Actions)contact form

1.10. Nile Body Top Widget
Creating Nile Body Top Widget is very easy
Step 1: Go to Administrator Panel>>> Appearance >>> Widget
Step 2: You can set a sidebar for it

Step 1: Drag Nile Body top Widget to any sidebar you want; for instance, default sidebar. Widget order is belong to the way how to drag and put it in default sidebar
Step 2: You can click on it and then choose a sidebar what you want
Step 3: Complete it settings
- Title: Nice Body Top Widget
- Descript of Widget
- Image Widget: click to "here" to choose image in Media ( Appearance >>> Media), and then copy URL of that image (File URL) to Image Widget
- Content: type the text in here
Step 4: Save change
Step 5: Go to front-end, refresh and see the changes

Note: If you want to change it to another sidebar, please delete its setting and drag it a new sidebar

To create Nile Category Widget, you can see creating Nile Body Top Widget

Sort by: there are 2 options for you: Newest or Random posts on Widget
Post on page: number of post on one page slide.
Save changes

However, if you only do the above steps, you can see the change in front-end as below:

It isn't perfect. You can design theme for this widget:
- Go to Administrator panel >>> Appearance >>>Theme Options >>> Social Media

You can add new layout (a new social media) for theme and save change.
You have to copy your social link in each social media.
In Social in Single, you can choose On or Off if you want to show Social link in Single Sidebar or not.
Then save changes.

CUSTOMIZE POSTS AND PAGES
1. Setting up Pages
Nile supports 5 page themes: Home Page, Members,Fullwidth, Default Theme and Left Sidebar
To create new pages using these page theme, please follow the steps:

Add new page
Choose Page Attributes
Fill all information needed for a page such as: its Title, Description, Parent, etc. and Publish.
Front-end display:

2. Setting A Page to be Home Page
To set up the font page of your website to any pages you created, follow the simple steps:
Step 1: Set up a new page, choose its theme to be HomePage Theme in Page Attributes.

Step 2: Go to Appearance>>>Customize. Here you can preview the front-end of the theme and adjust some basic settings. Continune moving to Static Front Page, choose Front Page Display as A
Static Page then choose a page from options below.
Step 3: The selected page will become the homepage.
3. Setting up Member Page and Contact Page
When adding new pages, choose their page themes as Member Page and Contact Page to create these pages. Content of the pages are freely customized.
CUSTOMIZE THEME SETTING
1. Theme Option
Go to Administrator Panel >>> Appearance >>> Theme Options to clearly see all information about it.
1.1. General

Main logo theme: choose logo image of your businesses.
Main logo theme for retina screen: change logo for retina screen.
Color text main: change color of menu text and color of text when hovered here.
Custom color text in slider: change color of text in B Slide.
Show Breadcrumb: Breadcrumb means directed text “you are here: Home”. You can choose show or hide Breadcrumb.
Show Total Members: show or hide members of your website.
Show search form: means show or hide search tool.
Support Responsive: turn on or turn off responsive layout.
Columns you want to show in Category page: change number of columns when clicking to B Category, Default Category and Uncategorized in Single page.
Columns you want to show in Search page: number of columns displayed in Search Result Page.
Columns you want show in Archive Page.
Columns you want to show in Tag Page.
Custom title and text in 404 Page: you can change the text shown in page 404
1.2. Social Media

You can paste URL link of your social network such as Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Facebook and so on.
You can choose show or hide social icon in Single Page.
1.3. Custom Font

Custom text font: choose main font of posts.
Custom Heading font: change font of headings.
Custom Recent Comments Text font: change font of text in Recent Comment Sliders.
1.4. Custom Background

Custom Background Body and Custom Background Header: Change settings of background body and header of your website. Click clear button in each setting to return to original settings. Here are

MENU SYSTEM
1. Setting up Menus
To set up new menu item, go to Appearance >>> Menu.
Step 1: you have to select menu to edit or creat a new one
Step 2: you can take pages/posts/posts in Members/posts in B Slider/ Categories/ or Link to be the new menu items.
Step 3: Select and Add to Menu. The selected item will appear on the Menu Structure on the right.

Step 4: Save Menu and go to Appearance >>> Widgets. In Navigation, select the menu to be displayed in front-end then save the selection.
2. Drop-down menu and Tree menu
To create Drop-down and tree menu, simply change the heading level of menu structure by dragging and dropping menu items.

6. How to change favicon?

Favicon is a small icon positioned on the left of the address bar of your browser. By default, as an icon as shown on the screenshot below.
On your website, you might want to use your own icon, like the one we are using on our site http://themelead.com (http://themelead.com/)
Here are instructions on how to do that:
Step 1: Create your own favicon file
Technically, favicon is a regular 16px * 16px icon file with exact name favicon.ico. In most cases, favicon is the sized-down version of the company logo saved in the icon format. In some cases, the logo is
too specific and favicon needs to be built from scratch.You can use some professional icon editor software like Axial is Icon Workshop and Icon cool Editor or to use online favicon generators. The first
method gives you better quality, but takes more effort. The second method is easier, but the quality is not the best.
Step 2: Upload favicon file to your server
After you’ve got the favicon file, it’s time to upload it to your server. You need to upload the icon file to theme folder overwriting the default file. This is the folder folder_name avicon.ico
