WHAT IS A WIKI?

   A wiki is short for fast

   It is a online site that is created by a group of users
       You need to login to edit the wiki

   The most popular wiki is Wikipedia

   Our wiki is called Art Explorers

   It is blank right now waiting to be filled by you
       Things to think about
           What should we put into the space?
           What should we leave out?
           How can we make our content exciting to read?

RESEARCH QUESTIONS


   4th grade will research artists and find answers to the following
    questions
     Who is the artist?
     What type of art did he/she create?
     Why is this art important?
     What is his/her most famous painting?
     What do you think is the most interesting thing about the artist?


   5th grade will research art styles and elements and find answers to
    the following questions
     Explain this art style
     What is important to know about this style?
     What does this art style look like?
     What materials would you use to create this art style?
WHAT GOES IN THE WIKI?

   Content in the form of text, pictures, videos, links, and widgits

   Text is what you type into the wiki from your research on art

   Pictures are carefully chosen images that reflect what your
    meaning about your art section

   Video are lesson you will create and film which will them be
    downloaded into the wiki

   Links are underlined and connect to other sites you want to share
    about your content

   What’s a widget? It is computer code that creates a video or
    other visual into the site
CREATING THE WIKI

   Prepare
     Finish your research with the graphic organizer
     Find your images and load them into the wiki
     Have links saved in a word doc to cut and paste
     Load or link your video lesson you created



   Next
     Log-in to the wiki
     Find your page and click the edit button
     Type your content, insert your images, and use widgets
      to link your videos
