Esther, a girl who lived in an asylum all her life, was shunned and feared by all the other patients and staff. One day, another patient pushes her off the roof to her death. In the present day, three teenagers - Molly, Jack, and Ellie - dare each other to spend a night in the abandoned asylum. They encounter a ghostly girl there who possesses Jack. Jack corners Molly on the roof and, while possessed by Esther, pushes Molly to her death. In the end, Esther and the ghosts of the teenagers stand on the roof watching a new group approach the asylum.

1. Synopsis
Prologue:
Esther, a sixteen year old girl, had lived in the mental asylum all her life. She
never knew why she was put there but what she did know was that she was
feared. The doctors and nurses avoided her, even the other patients. She was
shunned by all and left alone in her room day by day. There was only one place
she could escape the madness, the roof of the asylum. This was her safe place
where no one could find her, that was until the day she died. Followed by a
patient one day he/she asks her why everyone is so scared of her, he/she tells
her that he doesn’t like being scared saying everyone would be better if she
wasn’t here. Esther steps backwards to the edge of the roof where the patient
then comes forward and pushes her off the roof.
Present day:
Three teenagers are walking around the woods with a camera in hand talking
about the asylum. They had heard the stories about the asylum; the
mysterious disappearances, the noises at night, the mysterious girl wandering
the halls at night alone – just stories they had thought. But they wanted to see
for themselves what really went on in the asylum. They had all dared each
other to stay in the asylum for a whole night with the camera to see what
would actually happen. As the asylum comes into view a girl appears on the
roof staring at the teenagers as they approach. She then appears at the door of
the asylum watching them until they notice her, she then turns around and
walks into the building. Molly, Jack and Ellie all seem to think that this is the
girl that all the rumours are about and head in after her wondering where she
has gone. Walking inside the asylum they spend the first few hours looking for
her but don’t seem to find her. Molly and Ellie say that they should split up
from Jack to see what else they can find in the asylum. Taking the camera Jack
splits up from the rest of the group and walks into a room as the door swings
open. Finding a girl standing in the corner Jack approaches her as she is facing
the wall. Coming closer to her, camera in hand, she slowly turns round
screaming at him. Cutting to Molly and Ellie, Jack approaches them looking
dazed. As it is getting later Molly tells Jack and Ellie that she is going to look for

2. somewhere they can sleep leaving Ellie and a possessed Jack on their own.
Once Molly has left a possessed Jack he turns towards Ellie telling him that all
he ever wanted was some friends speaking as Esther. Having found a place to
sleep in the asylum Molly tries to find Ellie and Jack, meeting him in the
corridor she asks where Ellie is, Jack replies with Ellie has gone looking on the
roof to see whether there is anything interesting up there for them to catch on
camera. Walking up to the roof Jack corners Molly speaking as Esther Jack asks
if she wants to be her friend. She tells Molly that she never wanted to be alone
and that it’s for the best for them to all stay together. Approaching Molly she
pushes her off the roof.
Cutting to the top of the roof there Ester stands with the ghosts of the group of
teenagers all hand in hand. They are all watching another group approach the
asylum saying “maybe she went in there”.
