I am writing in response to the available part-time teller positions approximate to Wilkinsburg,
numbers 09-2045, 09-2026, 09-1997. I just moved from Greensburg to the city and aspire to
enter the banking field as a complement to my ambitions as a musician. Throughout my
education, I was drawn to both music and mathematics, and though I ultimately decided to major
in music, I also completed three accounting courses and a calculus course during my
undergraduate studies at Miami University. Now that my graduate work is complete and I am
working as a freelance musician, I would like the opportunity to once again pursue both of my
interests.
Various elements of my education have prepared me for success as a bank teller. I excelled in the
aforementioned accounting and calculus courses, and I received a 730 out of 800 on the
mathematics portion of the GRE. I also received a strong liberal arts education (including eight
honors courses) from Miami University, which helped me develop written and verbal
communication skills, an aptitude for mastering new information, and computer literacy. My music
coursework has, in addition, demanded a high level of teamwork in rehearsal and performance
situations.
My recent work experience as a waitress has further prepared me for the customer service aspect
of this position. It is my number one priority as a waitress to ensure customer satisfaction, and a
large portion of this is identifying and suggesting the products that will enhance each customer's
experience. This skill will apply directly to ensuring the full satisfaction of bank customers. In this
economic climate, it would be particularly rewarding to be part of helping people secure their
financial future. I look forward to discussing this opportunity further.
