1. F.E.A.R.

I just saw a sign that was so profound that I had to stop what I was doing and write
about it! The sign was quite simple by design! It looked something like this:
F-alse
E-vidence
A-ppearing
R-eal
False Evidence Appearing Real! What a statement AND how very true! As the old
quote says, “we have nothing to fear but fear itself”. Now that takes on a whole new
meaning!
How many times have we been too afraid to make a decision, based on what we fear
may be true? False Evidence Appearing Real!
How many times have we let what we fear might happen to totally ruin our day? False
Evidence Appearing Real!
I, on a personal level, can recall being fearful of what MIGHT happen if I were to quit
my full time job to start my own business! False Evidence Appearing Real!
One of the biggest concerns my wife and I had was what would we do about health
insurance if I was self-employed! It must cost so much more than what I am currently
paying, based on how much the company that I am employed with pays on my behalf!
What would we do? Obviously we would have to go without insurance until we could
afford to pay the premium!
When it finally reached the point that the unhappiness with my career outweighed the
fear of the cost of the insurance, I resigned. And guess what! I had new insurance,
for my family and I, in force within a week! The premium is actually less than what I
was paying before with the company subsidization!! Again, False Evidence

2. Appearing Real!
I am sure that each of you reading this, like me, has had a situation where you were
all tied up in nots worried about what might happen at work, at home or life in general.
Like me, it probably consumed you and it wasn’t until the time passed to when you
said to yourself, “whew! I was worried for nothing!” False Evidence Appearing Real!
What if each time we were worried or concerned about something, we could stop
and analyze the evidence and determine if it is true or false? Something tells me that if
we did, more times than not we would discover it to be false or at least be convinced
to wait and see what happens!
Fear is truly the culprit to preventing one from following their dreams, taking a chance
or taking that leap of faith. Next time just remember what the little sign said. Fear is
nothing more than:
FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL!!
