How can we help kids
whose parents don’t have
professional networks and
who can’t afford unpaid
internships to get
connected with employers
and money (if not paid-for
opps?)?
Counselor helping
underprivileged kids get
good jobs out of college
help professors
understand which kids
need their attention
those kids may not feel
entitled to ask for help
– and therefore fail.
It’s sad that these smart kids
who work so hard have
insecurities and pre-
conceived notions that they
aren’t as deserving as other
kids.
If we can coach kids on why and
how to reach out to professors
we can help them help
themselves.

Professors do not
have a way to know
which kids need
help.
The kids often have
imposter
syndrome, that they
don’t deserve to be
there.
The kids who do
reach out to
professors might end
up getting a
recommendation, lea
ding to a higher
success rate in
getting jobs.
