A Dutch tourist was sentenced to 3 months in prison and fined for disrupting a Buddhist religious ceremony in Myanmar. He unplugged an amplifier projecting a sermon to a crowd, claiming he did not know it was a religious building. However, the Myanmar courts found him guilty despite his pleas. Previously, New Zealanders were jailed for up to a year for drawing Buddha with headphones representing a local bar.
