3. INTRODUCTION
Microsoft Surface , is a forthcoming Multi-touch
product from Microsoft.
This is developed as a Software and Hardware
Technology.
This allow a user/ multiuser to manipulate digital
content by the use of natural motions , hand gestures
or physical object.
4. HISTORY
Microsoft Surface announced on May 30, 2007 at D5
Conference in California.
During the D Conference Surface was the first
platform making use of touch-screens.
The product idea for Surface was initially
conceptualized in 2001 by “ Steven ” of Microsoft
Hardware and “Andy Wilson “ of Microsoft Research.
5. OVER VIEW
Later In 2003, the team presented the idea to the
Microsoft Chairman (Bill Gates) in a Group review.
Surface was unveiled by Microsoft CEO (Steve
Ballmer ) on May 30, 2007 at D: All Things Digital
conference in California.
Later it was renamed as “SURFACE COMPUTER” .
7. WORKING
Microsoft Surface uses cameras to sense objects,
hand gestures and touch.
This user input is then processed and displayed
using rear projection .
The Surface uses multiple cameras beneath the
screen device tabletop to sense objects , physical
touch etc..

20. CONCLUSION
Surface takes existing technology and present it in a
new way .Surface computer is advanced computer
having large touch screen without using of keyboard and
mouse. User can interact with the machine by
touching or dragging with their fingertips by multi-touch
and multiuser can interact with the computer.
