MANAGEMENT 1.Non pharmacological • Regular exercise, good hydration , avoidance of sleep deprivation and abrupt sleep schedule changes • Avoidance of dietary and alcohol-related ‘ trigger’ if present. • Women with aura should avoid estrogen treatment for either oral contraceptive or hormone replacement.
- 4. 2. Symptomatic • Non specific pain medication for migraine headache episode • Aspirin ,Paracetamol, NSAID, metoclopramide 3. Migraine specific abortive treatments • Sumatriptan • Caution is needed with ergotamine preparation since they may lead to dependence .
