There are primary and secondary
windings in transformer.The
primary winding is connected to
supply and secondary winding is
connected to load.The turn’s
ratio of transformer is
N2/N1=E2/E1=I1/I2
TOTAL PRIMARY RESISTANCE
If the turn’s ratio of the
transformer is K
Secondary resistance referred to
primary =R2/k^2
Primary resistance referred to
secondary=R1^K^2
NO LOAD TEST AND
SHORTCIRCUIT TEST
If the secondary is on no load the Power
measured in primary is coreloss in both
singlephase and threephase transformers.If the
secondary is short circuited the power
measured in primary is copperloss in both
singlephase and threephase transformers
The efficiency is maximum when
core loss is equal to copper loss
