George Soros was born in
Budapest Hungry in 1930. His
childhood, under communist
rule was difficult and ran away
to England in 1947. While he
was a student at the London
School of Economics , Mr
Soros studied the work of the
philosopher Karl Popper.
Popper's idea were very
important for Soros future life.
In 1956 he moved to the
United States where he worked
and made a fortune by god
investment. He used money to
found the Open Sociaty
Foundation in New York in
1979. His first Eastern

Hungary in1984. He has
donated money and given
advice to more than 31
countries including countries in
Central and Eastern Europe ,
the former Soviet Union and
Asia. He has also helped in
Southern Africa, Haiti,
Guatemala, and the USA.
