The venue/s where the race will be held must be chosen carefully to ensure that they are enjoyable, accessible, and will present a challenge to the participants.
4. One of the best ways to teach your employees
about the value of teamwork and cooperation and,
at the same time, allow them to have some fun is to
organise an Amazing Race-style team
building inSydney.
5. With the city being home to some of the most
exciting venues and recreational spots in
Australia, your team would certainly enjoy
zooming in and out of Sydney and exploring its
every nook and cranny while doing tasks and
challenges to emerge as the winner.
6. Choosing the Best Locations
One of the essentials to having a fun and
meaningful Amazing Race-style team building
activity is the location. The venue/s where the
race will be held must be chosen carefully to
ensure that they are enjoyable, accessible, and
will present a challenge to
7. the participants. If the race you have in mind will
require the racers to pick up objects at different
locations (like in a scavenger hunt), then it can be
a challenge for the organisers if the participants
are quite familiar with Sydney.
8. If you want to make the race more challenging for
your team members, be sure to include in the race
some of Sydney’s best hidden spots that only a
few Sydneysiders know about.
9. Artworks in secret streets and hidden
laneways
When it comes to the city’s hidden delights, Nadia
Hernandez’ “To be free is to have no fear” is
definitely one of the best. This mural, which is the
first artwork in Art and About’s City Walls series,
10. is safely tucked away behind the Customs House
in Loftus Lane. You can plant some clue in this
location for the race participants to find. Or if
you’re doing the race at night, try hiding it near
Jason Wing’s “In between two worlds.” This
amazing artwork, which is best viewed at night, is
located along Kimber Lane.

12. Mortuary Station
If you and your team want to see the weird yet
wonderful side of Sydney, then you can start with
the Mortuary Station. Located just beside the
Central Station, the Mortuary Station is a Gothic
building built in 1868 to transport the dead to
Rookwood Necropolis. Although the station is no
longer in operation, it is still accessible to those
who wish to visit it.
13. St James Tunnels
Here’s another prime location to include in your
Amazing Race: St James Tunnels. St James
Tunnels are a series of abandoned tunnels that
are just beneath Hyde Park. They were built in the
1930s and used as the headquarters for Air
Defence during World War II. Sydney Living
Museums opened the tunnels to the public in 2015
14. Pylon Lookout
The Pylon Lookout is situated on top of the
southeast pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It
offers some of the best views of the city and would
definitely make a great pit stop or even the finish
line for the race.
15. Remember, location is key so see to it that you
include these hidden spots in your team building
activity to ensure a fun yet challengingSydney
Amazing Race.
