In a certain way, we all have attachments.
But most of the time, we are not even aware of them.
So in order to become familiar with them, we have to develop a lot of awareness.
For me, the best way to develop awareness is through meditation.

Attachment Explained.pdf
1.
2. Attachment is one of the five Kleshas, the causes
of suffering in Buddhism and Hinduism.
3. A Klesha is an unpleasant mental state that confuses
the mind and
causes misery as well as the conditions for suffering
to occur.
4. Raaga, or attachment, is the act of clinging to or
holding on to something illusory or temporary.
5. even know that you are attached to things, situations,
or some people.
The weird thing is that most of the time you don’t
6. It takes a lot of awareness and self-reflection to know
that you are attached to certain things in life.
7. When you have a strong attachment to something, it
means you are afraid it will be taken away.
8. this makes you feel deeply insecure, making you
cling on even harder.
Because you know that whatever you have might be
lost,
9. of life on a material level is developed in you by
attachment, which produces pain.
A background current of worry, tension, anxiety, and
dread of loss that is a necessary byproduct
10. This means that the initial cause of suffering—not
understanding the true nature of reality—contains all
other causes as well.
11. Your ego no longer controls your awareness, giving
and taking offense, or seeking the favor of others
when you realize who you truly are: a pure spirit.
12. Knowing that everything in a fleeting material
universe has a start, middle, and end, you let go of
your attachments.
13. Knowing that the things you fear are illusory and temporary
and cannot hurt your actual self, you stop avoiding them.
14. Freeing you from your fear of dying, you realize that
death is only a change
from one embodiment of your spirit to another.
15. Your life is like a bright flash across the bright
blue sky, a paragraph in eternity.
16. By bringing you back to the awareness of who you are,
meditation is the key that releases you from the prison of pain.
18. You get rid of the
desire for
attachment and
aversion, and
you get rid of the
worry about your
own mortality.
19. By using meditation
to create the space
and by watching
your awareness,
you can notice these negative states of mind as they
appear in your awareness.
20. You can break free from the Kleshas' grip when you
see them for what they are: delusions.
