Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

PERSYARATAN KARYA ILMIAH
1. Karya ilmiah dapat berupa research, systematic review maupun case report
2. Untuk mengunggah naskah ilmiah tidak harus mendaftar simposium terlebih dahulu
3. Bagi peserta yang mengunggah naskah ilmiah dan terpilih untuk tampil dalam presentasi oral/e-poster,
diwajibkan untuk mendaftar dan membayar sebagai peserta simposium hingga batas waktu yang ditentukan
4. Jika pendaftaran tidak dilakukan dalam batas waktu yang ditentukan maka karya ilmiah tersebut tidak akan
diikutsertakan dalam acara THE 2nd INASMEET SURABAYA 2023
5. Penyaji presentasi oral/e-poster adalah salah satu dari peneliti/penulis karya ilmiah yang tercantum
6. Karya ilmiah harus asli dan belum pernah dipublikasikan sebelumnya
7. Naskah ilmiah yang dikirimkan harus menggunakan Bahasa Inggris yang baik dan benar
8. Naskah ilmiah dapat dikirimkan melalui ke panitia melalui website : _____________
9. Setiap peserta dapat mengirimkan lebih dari 1 (satu) karya ilmiah, maksimal 4 karya ilmiah
3. FORMAT PENULISAN ABSTRAK
1. Format Penulisan: Ukuran kertas A4, font Times New Roman, ukuran 12, spasi 1,5, Justify, Margin Normal
2. Abstrak dikirim dalam bentuk file Microsoft Word untuk memudahkan proses editing dan penghitungan jumlah kata
3. Judul: judul harus spesifik, jelas, ringkas, informatif, menggambarkan substansi atau isi tulisan, dan dapat meningkatkan
keinginan untuk membaca
4. Penulis: urutan nama penulis disesuaikan berdasarkan kontribusinya dalam melaksanakan penelitian dan penulisan naskah ilmiah
5. Korespondensi: korespondensi berisi alamat email dan nomor telfon penulis pertama
6. Isi: Karya Ilmiah Analitik terdiri dari: Pendahuluan, Metode, Hasil, Pembahasan, dan Kesimpulan. Karya Ilmiah Laporan Kasus
terdiri dari: Pendahuluan, Kasus, Pembahasan dan Kesimpulan. Pendahuluan menjelaskan latar belakang masalah dan tujuan
penelitian yang dilakukan. Metode yang ditampilkan dijelaskan secara rinci. Pembahasan menampilkan pembahasan hasil
penelitian secara mendalam, format laporan kasus harus disusun seinformatif mungkin. Isi naskah diharapkan berisi minimal 600
(enam ratus) kata
7. Daftar Pustaka: Disusun menurut aturan Vancouver (nomor ditulis di akhir kalimat yang mengacu pada sumber pustaka. Nomor
tertulis super scripted)
8. Kata kunci: jumlah kata kunci maksimal 5 (lima) kata
4. TATACARA PRESENTASI ORAL
• Alokasi waktu untuk Presentasi Oral adalah 8 (delapan) menit untuk presentasi, dengan tambahan waktu 2
(dua) menit untuk tanya jawab dengan juri dan audiens.
• Materi presentasi menggunakan .ppt atau .pptx
• Apabila slide presentasi memuat banyak video/multimedia, disarankan untuk menyimpan file presentasi
Bersama file-file pendukung dalam satu folder tersendiri, dan menyerahkannya ke slide counter selambat-
lambatnya H-1 sebelum bicara untuk uji coba materi video terlebih dahulu, dan tidak diperkenankan
menggunakan perangkat pribadi.
• Pembicara menyampaikan presentasi sesuai waktu sesi acara yang telah dijadwalkan
5. TATACARA PRESENTASI POSTER
• Pembicara makalah bebas yang terpilih untuk presentasi e-poster, mengirimkan softcopy e-poster selambatnya pada tanggal

• Presentasi e-poster serupa dengan poster tradisional, tetapi ditampilkan pada layar televisi/monitor
• Panduan e-poster :
• Format : PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, CDR, PSD
• Orientasi : landscape
• Ukuran : 1080 x 1920 pixels
• Ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia sesuai EYD
• Poster mencakup :
• Nama lengkap
• Kontak pembicara (telp, alamat, email)
• Judul makalah
• Penulis (nama tanpa gelar, nama pembicara digaris bawah)
• Asal institusi
• Isi (latar belakang, tujuan, rencangan/metode, hasil, kesimpulan, kata kunci)
• Gambar, grafik dan table disatukan dalam poster
• Alokasi waktu untuk Presentasi poster adalah 8 (delapan) menit untuk presentasi, dengan tambahan waktu 2 (dua) menit untuk tanya
jawab dengan juri dan audiens.
6. FORMAT DAN PENGIRIMAN e-POSTER
• e-poster yang dikirim sebaiknya telah dikoreksi dan tidak ada perubahan lagi
• batas akhir pengiriman softcopy e-poster adalah tanggal _______

• apabila ukuran file lebih dari 25MB (batas maksimal pengiriman attachment melalui email), maka file

9. VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
• Video berdurasi antara 5-8 minutes dalam HD (high definition) dengan resolusi minimal 720p (1280x720 px) atau dalam FHD (Full High
Definition) dengan resolusi maksimal 1080p (1920x1080 px).
• Video dibuat dalam bentuk .mp4 format dan tidak melebihi 500 MB
• Video direkam dalam format horizontal (landscape) dengan audio yang dapat terdengar jelas
• Judul pada awal video menampilkan teknik/jenis pembedahan yang dilakukan, disertai nama presentan/pembuat video
• Video yang bersinggungan dengan “conflict of interest’ wajib mencantumkan/menyebutkan dengan jelas di awal video
• Berikan keterangan/narasi singkat pada tahapan penting pembedahan yang dilakukan dalam bentuk subtitle atau lisan (dubbing).
• Video dikirimkan beserta abstrak singkat yang meliputi :
• Pendahuluan – penjelasan singkat tujuan dan latar belakang
• Deskripsi – deskripsi singkat isi video pembedahan ( dan Teknik pembedahan yang dilakukan)
• Kesimpulan – pernyataan yang menjelaskan kemanfaatan karya dan/atau implikasi pada riset/praktek/kebijakan
10. VIDEO PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
• Presentan video teknik pembedahan akan mendapatkan jadwal untuk menampilkan dan
mempresentasikan video pada sesi khusus :
• Presentan video diminta untuk hadir onsite, dan menyebutkan dengan jelas “conflict of
interest” pada awal presentasi. Jika tidak memiliki “conflict of interest” sebutkan pula
dengan jelas pada awal presentasi.
• Menyampaikan narasi singkat bersamaan dengan saat film ditayangkan
• Film akan diputar dan dioperasikan oleh teknisi yang bertugas
• Film akan diputar dalam mode bisu (muted) untuk mengakomodasi narasi interaktif secara langsung
• Berpartisipasi pada sesi tanya jawab setelah film diputar, dipandu oleh moderator.
