“Setting the world ablaze”
June 13, 2014
Dear Future Saints,
Greetings in Christ!
As I have been spending my first weeks here at Saint Paschal Baylon Parish, I continue to admire the passion behind the
members of the parish community. Quite remarkable!
Coming from Franciscan University of Steubenville, I am quite the fan of Saint Francis of Assisi, obviously. He was a man of
joy, and he was a man of conviction that was certainly contagious! One quote that continues to inspire me as we begin this
mission of love together is, “Start doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the
impossible.” After some prayer, reflection, and several conversations, I have made some changes for the upcoming year
here at the parish. Confirmation classes will follow the schedule below:
Attached to this letter you will find a class session schedule for both year one and two. Please note the following:
- Merged Sessions: Both year one and two will meet at the same time starting with 5:30 Mass. There will
be no session prior to Mass on these days.
- (Parents Invited): I have included a total of four sessions for year one and two that are open to both parents
and sponsors to help build a sense of community and support during our journey together toward
Confirmation. Hope to see you there!
- The theme and curriculum for this year is taken from a newly released program entitled CHOSEN, authored
by a team of nationally known youth ministers and speakers.
If you have not already done so, please also fill out and submit your child’s Confirmation registration form along with the
300 dollar registration fee and return to the parish offices as soon as possible to avoid conflicts and delays at the start
of the year. The registration fee will cover a personal parents’ guide for the curriculum, food and refreshments every week,
and retreat expenses.
I am excited to begin a new year with all of you. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!
Let the mission begin!
