This PowerPoint presentation is about the future of work: preparing for disruption. Here it is discussed that what are the problems of the changing nature of work as well as the solution to those problems. This presentation also includes the problems in the context of India. The solution also includes the Enhancement of Human Capital Index of individual countries to go with flow of the changing nature and environment of work.
3. Introduction
The nature of the work is changing on a regular basis.
The traditional jobs has been eliminated by the
introduction of machines. The machines and Artificial
Intelligence (AIs) are taking over the day-to-day regular
jobs of the humans of humans in every corner of the
world. Due to the introduction of artificial intelligence
in the market the work have been became easy as well
as the economy of scale and economy of scope has
been found. This innovation resulted in the many
advantages in the society. In this context it should be
noted that these innovation also have some
disadvantage such as unemployment.
6. The problem which is to be dealt with is nothing but
how to solve the problems such as unemployment,
inappropriate and low payment of wages etc. arising
out of the automation in the industries all over the
world? The nature of work is changing on a regular
basis. The traditional jobs, daily routine jobs, jobs
performed on the basis of algorithm etc. taken over
by the machines andAIs.
7. Results of Automation
Automation has impacted human interaction
greatly as more and more tasks are
performed by machines
Loneliness fuelled by social media algorithms
is increasing the risk of death among young
users
The rise of bots on social media platforms
have increased the incidence of hate speech
and also led to mob violence
8. The AIs and robots are taking over the jobs the
humans. For the examples of the jobs taken over
by the robots we can refer to the article stated
below

tech/examples-of-robots-replacing-jobs/
9. What is needed to solve the
problem?
Although the automation has given a number of
limitations and disadvantages to the society at
large, it has also given many benefits to the
humans. Thus the problems of unemployment can
on only be solved by enhancing the human capital
index of the countries and the earth as a whole as
introduced by the World Bank Group . The Human
Capital Index is nothing but a measurement
technique to measure the future potential
productivity of a country. The Human Capital Index
comprises of three components
10. viz. Number of years of schooling , survival rate and
health of the human capital of a nation. Although the
automation eliminating the human jobs but also creating
a huge number of human jobs in the new areas. These
new jobs were never existed in the human job history.
These new jobs requires many skills and abilities which
are to be developed in the human capital. In sort we can
say that the problem of unemployment arises not due to
the automation but the unemployable human in
accordance with the changing nature of work. The
humans are to develop required skills and abilities to
perform the new jobs which has been created by the
changes in the nature of work. To pursue these goals the
government has to invest in the human capital.
11.
12. Challenges while implementing
the solution
The huge amount invested in the human capital by
respective nations in order to enhance the human
productivity of the country.
The huge amount invested may not reach to the
ultimate consumer if there are many intermediaries.
Although without intermediaries the implementation
will be a cumbersome task.
The investment in human capital takes a long time to
give the results in the enhancement of productivity. due
to the fast changing nature of work the investment in
the human capital for the estimated future job or
13. Why anyone seek to invest in
human capital?
The govt., private sector and other stakeholder needs to invest in
the human capital.
If the govt. Invests in the human capital the future productivity of
the people in the country will be increased which will result in the
increase in the income level, quality of life, living style, high
revenue from tax, increase in the GDP, and ultimately the wealth
of the population as well as of the country.
The private sector of a nation or the world always try to enhance
the skills, abilities and productivity through the training and
development of employees to get the maximum benefit from the
human resources of the company.
The other stakeholders of an economy or a nation as a whole will
try to increase their own as well as the productivity of the people
of the society to benefit the society as a whole.
14. present job at the time of investment may not be
relevant when the investment will actually provides
result. It means that the updated skills and abilities
may not be relevant in the future as the nature of
work is changing significantly on a regular basis.
15. In the context of India
Although the govt. Of India has invested in the
human capital, the investment has not been able
to produce the results as expected. Thus in case
of India the hindrances in the implementation of
the solution to the problem of unemployment
has influenced a lot.
16. India Produces 1.5 Million
Engineers A Year. Why Are Most Of
Them Unemployed?
In India every year around 1.5 million engineers get
their own graduate degree but most of the are
unemployedThe changing nature of work has crated
millions of jobs in the engineering field but even they
have cleared and passed the engineering courses
they are not employed this is due to the fact that
these graduates may have the paper degree in their
hand but don’t have the required skills and ablities an
engioneer must have.
17. The questions arise today because of the
shocking results of the survey carried out by
Aspiring Minds which revealed that only 7%
engineering graduates in India are employed. What’s
wrong with India’s engineers? According to this same
report, only 3% of engineers in India have the suitable
skills required to get a job in core sectors of
engineering. Around 1.5 million engineers in India are
released every year from various colleges but most of
them simply do not have the skills required to be
employed.
