2. On one dark and cool night…
a police officer was dispatched to a possible burglary in
progress. The information was limited but he did know that a
lady had called in a man staring at her from her living
window. He was described as scruffy and was wearing dark
colored jeans and a worn out green army jacket. The police
officer traveled down a creepy road lined by thin trees and
pulled into the lady’s house. As soon as he stepped out of his
car, the motion lights flashed on and blinded him. He walked
up to the front door, firmly knocking a few times. His eyes
scanned the area around him and an uneasy feeling started to
overcome him. But it quickly disappeared as soon as the lady
opened her door. She seemed hesitant at first, obviously still
shaken up.
3. The police officer explained that he was here to
investigate a possible burglary in progress. He gathered
more details about the mysterious man. The lady
claimed that her motion lights had not gone off, which
was rare. She also explained how she could see the man
from his waist up. The police officer jotted a few more
things down and told that woman that he would go
check everything out. As he walked outside and around
the house, he analyzed the ground, noting that there
were no footsteps on the dewy grass. He continued to
walk until he reached the window the lady had
described. His eyes widened a bit as he saw that the
window went clear above his head. The police officer was
6 feet tall. There was no way the lady could have seen the
man from his waist up………..
unless he had been floating a few feet above the ground.
4. A bit creeped out, the officer made his way over to a giant
field across from the lady’s house. He stood there for a
second and shoved his hands into his pockets. A slight
shiver passed through him. He hadn’t realized it before but
it had gotten pretty cold outside. The police officer squinted
through the darkness, trying to see anything that might
resemble a human, hoping to find this suspicious person.
But before he do anything else, everything became very
quiet and very still. Suddenly, a harshly cold breeze blew
directly into his ear. It took him a moment to realize it was
someone breathing on him. He turned around to defend
himself, but was startled to see that no one was there. He
hadn’t imagined it, he knew that. And he didn’t see anyone
running off in the distance. A small thought crossed his
mind. A ghost? He didn’t want to the answer as he bolted to
his car and drove off . The story of Holland Road still haunts
the police officer to this day as he distinctly remembers the
breath of something against his neck.
