Note: Answer all questions. Kindly note that answers for 10 marks questions should be
approximately of 400 words. Each question is followed by evaluation scheme.
1Describe ethics, morals and values in detail.
Answer : Ethics is about our actions and decisions. When one acts in ways which are consistent with
our beliefs (whether secular or derived from a moral authority) we will characterize that as acting
ethically. When one’s actions are not congruent with our values - our sense of right, good and just -
we will view that as acting unethically.
Defining what is ethical is not an individual exercise however. If it were then one could have argued
that what Hitler did was ethical since his actions conformed to his definition of right, fair and good.
The ethics of our decisions and actions is defined
2.Describe the types of banking crimes.
Answer : Bank fraud is a serious financial crime that involves the unlawful obtainment of funds from
a bank or other financial institution. Bank fraud cases are usually distinguished from outright bank
robbery as they rely on the use of deception and confidence tricks rather than the threat or use of
violence. Bank fraud cases come in many different forms, including several types of check fraud,
identity theft, embezzlement, and document fraud.
3Discuss two financial scams that took place previously. Try to analyse why it is considered to be a
scam and which operational area it belongs to.
Answer : Answer : A confidence trick (synonyms include confidence scheme and scam) is an
attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence. A confidence artist (or con
artist) is an individual, operating alone or in concert with others, who exploits characteristics of the
human psyche such as dishonesty, honesty, vanity, compassion, credulity, irresponsibility, naïveté,
or greed.
4 Discuss about Infosys ownership pattern and structure of the board followed.
Answer :
5Discuss AML and explain its features?
Answer : 'Anti Money Laundering - AML'
Though anti-money-laundering laws cover only a relatively limited number of transactions and
criminal behaviors, their implications are extremely far reaching. An example of AML regulations are
those that require institutions issuing credit or allowing customers open accounts to complete a
number of due-diligence procedures to ensure that these institutions are not aiding in money-
laundering activities. The onus to perform these procedures is on the institutions, not the criminals
or the government.
6. Explain the framework for managing compliances risks. Describe the strategies for managing
compliance risks.
Answer : Growing regulatory environment, higher business complexity and increased focus on
accountability have led enterprises to pursue a broad range of governance, risk and compliance
initiatives across the organization. However, these initiatives are uncoordinated in an era when risks
are interdependent and controls are shared. As a result, these initiatives get planned and managed
in silos, which potentially increases the overall business risk for the organization. In addition, parallel
compliance and risk initiatives lead to duplication of efforts and cause costs to spiral out of control.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance process through control, definition, enforcement, and monitoring
has the ability to coordinate and integrate these initiatives.
