The movie Cool Runnings follows a bobsleighing legend who creates a Jamaican bobsled team to compete in the winter Olympics. He struggles to find athletes to join until four men agree to train. With no snow in Jamaica, the team works hard for weeks to prepare. At the Olympics, the team faces new challenges learning to sled on ice. Their goal is to prove that a team without snow can still succeed in the winter games.

The movie is about a bobsleighing legend going to
Jamaica to create a team for the winter Olympics. No one
joins except for 4 people who join. They go around to
business’s to find someone to sponsor them. They spend
multiple weeks training for it but have no snow so its not
easy. Eventually they get to the Olympics and and they
start to train on the ice which proves to be a challenge.
Their aim of the Olympics is to prove that even though
they don’t have snow they can still do well in the winter
Olympics.

 The actor who played Irv (John Candy) did the film for free
 The movie made $154.8million in its first year which is a
$140.8million profit
 The company which financed the movie was Disney.
 Roles were offered to big name actors such as Eddie
Murphy and Denzel Washington but they weren’t willing to
accept it because the pay was not large enough

4. Filming
 The film is based in Jamaica and in Calagry.
 The cast first filmed in Calagry because when the were
filming the movie there was snow in Calagry which
made the most sense to film there first. They then went
to Jamaica to film the other scenes.
 Before they started to film the movie they had to get
permission from the 1988 bobsleigh team as the story
is based on their lives
 Whilst filming the movie two directors left
