The Stuxnet virus targeted industrial control systems and was believed to sabotage Iran's nuclear program. It spread through infected USB drives and exploited vulnerabilities in Windows computers to infect industrial controllers. Stuxnet damaged Iranian nuclear centrifuges and was ultimately discovered by a Belarusian security firm in 2010. Its sophisticated design demonstrated that states have highly advanced cyber weapons for sabotage, increasing concerns about future cyber warfare.
