Director Vasan Bala said that in early 2016, a friend of his told him about a
dentist whose patient did not ask for anaesthesia. This triggered the idea of

box office but now has quite a following due to its ensemble cast. However it
is lesser known that late veteran actor X was also supposed to be part of this
film. X was supposed to play an antithesis of his own character Y, who was a
sad soul. While Y was an iconic villain, this character was supposed to be its
polar opposite, wearing white clothes and “Always serious, never smiles”
