INVEST IN THE AFRICAN
CREATIVE ECONOMY
CREATIVITY: AN ECONOMIC CATALYST
FOR AFRICA AND DIASPORAS.
Despite its impressive influence around the world,
Africa represents only 1% of the global creative
economy.
Africa and its diaspora, represents 18% of the world's
population with an incredible cultural diversity;
more than 2000 languages... an incredible potential
for creative production and a strong presence in 3
continents.
Today digital technologies enables creators to
preserve cultures, promote a new African narrative
and effectively export local productions across the
continent and reach a global audience.
As a member of this community MOCA and its
partners contribute to this cultural revolution
through a sustainable approach; the creation of
bridges between actors of this ecosystem and
support for structuring and promotion of African
creative industries.

6. ALAIN BIDJECK
FOUNDER OF MOCA
Alain Bidjeck, a pioneer in African cultural and creative industries for two decades, has
spearheaded bold transformations. His journey, marked by entrepreneurial successes in
France and various African countries, from Marocco to South Africa,, has been
characterized by active involvement in producing and supporting artists, entrepreneurs,
and institutions within the African cultural industry. These efforts have resulted in
numerous achievements, ranging from festivals to audiovisual productions, professional
events to artistic experiences, including virtual reality.
His objective goes far beyond merely promoting African arts and cultures. He aims to
transform these industries, creating a lasting impact by generating stable employment and
substantial economic value. Through his MOCA platform dedicated to Creative Industries,
he co-founded the “Copyright Friendly” label with CISAC and UCLG Africa. This initiative
aims to remunerate creators and promote responsible practices within the sector.
Currently, Alain Bidjeck is unveiling his most ambitious project, IMMERSIO, an immersive
learning platform specially designed for cultural professions. His ultimate goal is to
educate the youth, with the anticipated outcome being the creation of hundreds of
thousands of jobs in Africa in the medium term. This initiative transcends borders, shaping
a future where creativity meets employment, inspiring and transforming the perspectives
of the African cultural industry.
Through MOCA, we have forged partnerships and synergies in major cultural capitals,
collaborating with key stakeholders. Starting with our initiative in Kigali in 2022 and
continuing in Rabat in 2023, we have expanded our network. In 2024, we are particularly
proud to collaborate with AMOO to co-produce this significant event in London,
“Africa Creative Economy Summit”, marking a new significant milestone in our approach
to developing African cultural and creative industries!
7. Nzube trained as a computer scientist and today enjoys an active portfolio career as an
entrepreneur, investor (angel/VC), content creator (TV producer & podcast), and trusted
advisor. He is a co-founder of Amoo Angels (founded Q1 2023), a UK based angel network.
He also serves as a board member and advisor to early and growth stage businesses in the
UK and emerging markets.
Currently he is Corporate Finance Director at SMADE Entertainment Group (the Afro
Nation co-founder) and was the former investment manager at one of the UK's largest
CVCs with >300 ventures and a start-up portfolio valuation of 1.5B USD. He also engages as
a fundraising coach / entrepreneur-in-residence for other accelerator programmes and
has raised over 50M USD for SMEs.
He is devoted to building better communities through volunteering work in various
underrepresented groups (incl. Black, women, LGBTQIA+, and youth). He volunteers as a
trustee/board chair/member at The Africa Centre, The British Computer Society
Foundation, Queen Mary University of London and the IoD England Emerging NEDs
specialist group.
He co-founded and produced an investment summit called ACIIS in April, 2013 that
brought sectors such as advertising, arts, broadcasting, fashion, film, music, and publishing
into focus. This garnered overwhelming support from creative professionals, business
leaders, policy makers, and entrepreneurs. The daytime summit at The Africa Centre in
Covent Garden was followed by an evening palatial reception at the House of Commons
in Westminster, hosted by Ms Diane Abbott MP. Attending dignitaries and guests included
UK-based ambassadors and attaches from British Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Jamaica,
Mozambique, Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago as well
as the former British High Commissioner to South Africa, Lord Paul Boateng.
Today, he is excited by the Le MOCA partnership and is proud to join forces to co-produce
another historic event for Le MOCA, its very first in London, UK.
