Zero Casualty Achieved
The Odisha Government on Thursday
morning declared it has achieved
“Mission Zero Casualty” , while facing
severe cyclone ‘Titli’ in the State.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed
situation resulted due to severe cyclone
that made landfall near Palasa and
entered to Gajapati with a bang.
However due to timely evacuation
measures taken up by the District
Administration to prevent any loss of
human life to Cyclone Titli that battered
coastal Odisha, not a single life was lost.
“There has been no report of any deaths
(due to the cyclone) so far. Mission Zero
Casualty has been achieved”, said Chief
Minister Mr.Patnaik.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi,
Development Commissioner R
Balakrishnan,
Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada
Sethi and other senior officers were
present.
Chief Minister asked the officials to
continue monitoring rainfall in various
parts of the state and is alert to any
potential flood situation.
SRC Mr.Sethi informed that around
3,00,000 people have been evacuated.
And they have settled in 1112 relief
camps, which have been opened for the
evacuees in the shelters
105 Pregnant women in Ganjam and 18 in
Jagatsinghpur have been shifted to
Hospitals, said Mr.Sethi.
He said that 13 NDRF teams deployed
(Ganjam-2 teams, Gajapati, Puri-2
teams, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Bhadrak,
Jagatsingjpur, Balasore, Jajpur, khurdha
and Sambalpur districts)
ODRAF teams deployed in 9 districts
(Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha,
Cuttack, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Boudh
and Kalahandi, informed SRC..
He said that Fire Service teams deployed
in respective districts to take care the
people in crisis.
