Retailers are often misleading in their use of the term "sale" to persuade shoppers items are discounted when they are not. The Federal Trade Commission and industry groups have set rules for permissible price advertising and sales practices. Specifically, retailers cannot claim a price reduction from a former price unless originally offered regularly, cannot say a price is lower than competitors without verification, and cannot use inflated reference prices. Bait-and-switch advertising where low-priced items are out of stock is also illegal. Complex pricing helps obscure online price comparisons between retailers and prices change frequently during holiday periods.

For those interested in considering the program, information has been newly updated. Take a look. :-)
In this post, we continue our discussion about gaining the loyalty and increased patronage of current customers. Our focus is on the value of frequent-shopper programs.
WHAT IS A FREQUENT-SHOPPER PROGRAM? It is one awarding special discounts or gifts to people for their continued patronage. In most such programs, customers must accumulate a certain number of points (or their equivalent); these points are redeemed for cash or gifts.
As we plan our future career moves, it is essential to be aware of trends in the job marketplace. For example, what skills should we expect employers to desire in the year 2020?
As the Zarb School's Dean Patrick J. Socci notes: "It is our foremost priority to continue the development of innovative programming and curriculum for our students. On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff, I thank you for your commitment to the Zarb School and hope you enjoy this issue of our Zarb newsletter."
Career planning is something that requires a lot of time and effort. This presentation is from the fall 2014 orientation session for new Zarb School of Business graduate students.
Are you in college now or thinking about returning to earn a graduate degree? Here is a series of steps to follow. [Note: If you are already working, most of the steps in this chart are still relevant are you. :-) ]
