Zaha Hadid was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2004 for her seminal works that included the Vitra Fire Station from 1993, Landesgartenschau from 1999, and the Bergisel Ski Jump from 2002. A main theme of Hadid's designs exhibits that a building can float and defy gravity through her use of fluid forms and spatial complexity that break from orthogonal modernism. Some of her other notable works from this period include the Lois and Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art, the BMW Plant Central Building, the Hotel Puerta America interior, the Ordrupgaard Museum Extension, and the Phaeno Science Center.
