Auteur means Author in French, so the 'Auteur' of a director is unique
to each one, being that it's used throughout a number of
the directors films and not just one.
3. Tim Burton
Tim Burton is an American film director. He is known for his dark,
horror and gothic films
Burton's Auteur focuses ona lead charaacter being seperated from
normal society. Sometimes the main character is unable to interact
with the normal world around him, and generally have a gothic feel.
Burton has also made stop motion films, and the films he has
directed have elements of his Auteur.
4. Alfred Hitchcock
Alfred Hitchcock is an English film director. He is known mostly for his
techniques in suspense and psychological thriller genres.
Hitchcock's Auteur includes unique techniques in story telling and
plots. Some say he revolutionized the thriller genre with witty
dialogue and intelligent plots to keep the audience thinking.
One of Hitchcocks most famous scenes was in Psycho, which
featured 70 different shots within a minute.
Most of his thrillers feature great use of suspense.
5. Billy Wilder
Billy Wilder was an Austrian-born American film maker and is
considered one of Hollywoods best film makers in its golden age.
Wilder's Auteur includes a cynical feel to his films. Films include
